This hotel had phenomenal service and recognition to platinum members. The location is also incredibly convenient and is within walking distance of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts. The Art Deco in the hotel reflected the nearby museum. It was its own modern style. The suite I stayed in had a beautiful city view and amazing decorations. Upon entering... More

This hotel was different. It was the best hotel my daughter has ever been to. She loved it. The Art Deco reflected the San Francisco Museum of Modern Arts within walking distance perfectly. The decoration had its own style that was innovative and creative and beautiful. The suite we stayed in was phenomenal with extraordinary views of the city and... More

We stayed in W hotel San Francisco for just 1 night as part of a road trip of the west coast. Some pros: - Check-in was fairly smooth and quick - As SPG platinum we were upgraded to a corner room with a cool view of the Golden Gate Bridge - Bed was comfortable enough - Ample space for luggages... My husband and I traveled to San Francisco for a getaway weekend and had a great stay at the W. The service was outstanding, the corner King room was wonderful, and the food was great as well. Despite the 'nightclub' atmosphere in the lobby at night, our room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel location is great and easy walking... More

Not what I was expecting from a W Hotel however the staff made it enjoyable. Good reception and concierge staff. Funky foyer with dj music playing throughout the day and neon mood lighting. The rooms were comfortable but had a strong Asian decor which was a surprise. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows with 4 pillows to choose from. Electronic safe... More

Very good & Efficient for the Convention center. NIce, clean rooms. Everything I expect from a W hotel though the area is a bit sketchy and is undergoing renovation. Close to business district, Uber ride to anywhere within $20 (though can walk to Piers but Fisherman's wharf is just too far)

I really loved my stay at this hotel. The room was large and the bed was so wonderful. The whole hotel is hip and modern without being alienating. I utilized the fabulous Sara Hamza and her staff to find last-minute tickets to the ballet. Room service for a late night meal was prompt and the sandwich delicious. I had a... More

I've stayed at a ton of W hotels. This one delivers on the aesthetic - nice lobby bar, friendly staff in bar/restaurant/smiles at check in. But they fall short in a few KEY areas if you're a business traveler. 1. Phone in my room doesn't work. There is only one phone. So, in an emergency or just to order room... More

This is in the middle of the Moscone mess and SOMA (south of Market) but it isn't quite as nice as the Intercontinental. Still acceptable. It appeals to a younger, hipster crowd, which is a shame because a lot of people are traveling with children (which included me). Even if not, I don't know if I'd feel entirely comfortable with... This hotel was perfect for my first trip to San Francisco. Stayed here for a 5-day business trip and will definitely be coming back! Check in: I arrived about 3 hours before check-in. Our room wasn’t quite ready, but the staff took our luggage and email, then gave us suggestions for walking routes to pass the time. Within about an... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
