My sister and I found this hotel safe, clean and comfortable. The wines served each evening where spectacular! Within easy walking distance to Union Square, Chinatown, and on the cable car line. There are great restaurants tucked into little alley ways off Bush, that remind one of European travel. Consider taking the Bay Area Rapid Transit, (BART) from the airport...

We stayed at this hotel twice during our stay in San Francisco and on both occasions we were very happy with it. Location wise it's good, Chinatown Gates are a few blocks down and there are a number of restaurants, coffee places to choose from. You can walk to Union Square easily and one of the tram lines stops just...

We stayed for 4 nights recently and love it! The staff was very friendly and the location is great! The rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable. It was close to busy streets so it can be loud in the rooms at time. I had ear plugs in so that did not bother me at all. The free wine...

Our time spent at this hotel was good. The room was clean although the bathroom needed to be upgraded. Bedding was clean though and the size of the room definitely ample. We spent two nights there and the location was EXCELLENT.. I would definitely go back there. Really nice touch to have the wine tasting around 5 pm. Met some...

Staff are helpful and friendly. Wine tasting is good. Lobby is great. Internet in our room was free and worked. Sadly our room was awful. Musty smell, mold on ceiling of bathroom, pealing wallpaper. We got a cheap deal through expedia and I guess you get what you pay for. I understand there are some upgraded rooms, if you stay...

We recently stayed in San Francisco for three days before setting out to travel along the west coast of California. We arrived at the hotel around 7.30 p.m. and checked in. The reception staff were very charming and helpful and even brought us a glass of wine to our room as we had missed the happy hour they have each...

I'd read lots of mixed reviews about this Hotel before we went, we found it to be excellent value for money and in a really central location. The rooms aren't the biggest (how long do you actually spend in your room) but were very comfortable. There was a bit of noise at night but we had the window open and...

My husband and I selected this hotel due to its proximity to everything. We arrived nearly 6 hours late due to a delayed flight and found the staff and service really great. The hotel is a little dated, and the rooms a little old fashioned in a charming way, but I have never slept better - the bed was so...

When checking in, they just threw the keys at us without explaining a single thing (where the room was, what services they have, etc.). Then, they refused to honour the booking with TWO beds, so we had to share one unless we paid a higher fee (even though we had booked a room with two beds). We had planned to...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
