If it's your first time in SF, you can't go wrong with the Fairmont. On top of Nob Hill, with spectacular views north and/or east and located within walking distance (downhill!) of most must-see neighborhoods. It's also where all three trolley lines converge, so the iconic San Francisco experience is right outside The building itself is a classic, elegant reminder...

The initial impression is good, flags flying on a large impressive building, the lobby again is impressive but after that it did not blow us away. After a long tiring flight from the UK it is so annoying when the 3rd person bed is not set up and you have to call up for this and wait when you just...

This hotel is amazing. The history is rich, the decor is elegant, the location is fantastic, the staff is great. I am absolutely loving this hotel. They have updated some of the decor but it looks like antiques that are recovered. The decor is not distracting at all from the elegant touches put does make it chic. The staff has...

Located in Nob Hill near the sacred Labyrinth of the Grace Cathedral, this is the perfect place from which to explore the dynamic city of San Francisco. An grand style opulent hotel, which we thought we were lucky to get into at the rates Trailfinders managed to get for us. The hotel itself is well kept and quite luxurious with good sized rooms and lots of facilities in the hotel. Not much by way of complimentary toiletries etc, the fridge and snack bar was on automatic charging,...

Stayed with my family in August 2015 and it really was a special hotel. In top condition and ideal location for exploring all sides of San Francisco. Felt comfortable in any place throughout the hotel.

The Fairmont sits on Nob Hill with spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline and the bay. The lobby with its gold tones is visually stunning. My room was spacious with comfortable bed and amenities. I especially love all the luxurious thick towels! The best photo spot is the front exterior with the waving international flags, a throwback to the...

While I was in San Francisco with my friends, I stayed at this marvelous hotel. Every morning they greet you with a warm friendly smile and the staff their are very friendly. One of the best places to eat is the TONGA ROOM. It's marvelous. Another place to eat is at fishermans wharf. All in all, go to this hotel!!!!

Great time, Tonga room is a place you need to visit. Reserve early. Planning a trip to Alcatraz is a must, also reserve weeks if not months in advance of your trip. Hotel staff was great, very pricey but worth it.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
