Spent 5 days at conference here. Treated very well, excellent food, kind and helpful staff. Beautiful room with gorgeous view. Very, Very expensive however. All staff was on the ball. Restaurants very nice, food excellent but be prepared for $6 cup of coffee.

Not only are you staying at a historic landmark, but it is also a first class hotel. Sitting on the top of Nob Hill, you are a trolley ride, short cab ride or walk from a majority of the San Franciscan ‘points of interest’. Coming up to the hotel and walking through the lobby, I immediately got the feeling that...

We were on our honeymoon and couldn't be more pleased with the Hotel and the Staff. Everyone went out of their way to provide the best service, and make us feel welcome and important. The hotel is stunning, the foyer is breathtaking, and our recently renovated room was incredible. We were in the Tower with a great view of the...

Wonderful beds, service and views. This place can't be beat and is a piece of history in SF. Stay here if you can. The hotel keeps bees on the terrace, which is interesting, maybe not if you are allergic!

We stayed here for two nights for a conference being held on site. The hotel is very impressive from the lobby right to the room. We upgraded to a corner room with amazing views of the city and bay. Room was large and well equipped with a comfortable king bed. The concierge staff gave excellent advice on how to get...

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay with us. While I'm pleased to hear you found the hotel beautiful, I'm sorry to hear of some of your service experiences. Active Sports Club actually manages the spa, but I can imagine the frustration the lack of response caused. I've forwarded your comments to them to ensure it doesn't happen in...

This hotel is supposed to be rated as one of the best in San Francisco. Unfortunately, my brother's room had bed bugs. He woke up in the middle of the night and found something crawling on his leg. He killed it and brought it down to the front desk in the morning. The front desk confirmed it was a bed...

This is the original Fairmont for which all of the other hotels were modelled after and has recently been remodelled. It is located at the top of Nob Hill approximately three blocks up the hill from Union Square.

Perfect if your looking for bygone splendour but lacking by today's standards. We had two rooms, one over looking The intercontinental which had two beds and was spacious, the other over looked the centre roof, which was much smaller with one bed. Both rooms had been refurbished and were comfortable. The breakfast was expensive and poorly managed. On the whole...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
