Made the mistake of arriving at SF Marriott Marquis by bicycle for a business conference stay. Hotel staff would not allow me to keep the bike (a local rental) anywhere on the hotel premises. I even got the manager out, who was not helpful and passed me on to the valet chief who told me to lock it up on...

Hotel is in an excellent location just off Market st. The room was a fair size, clean and modern with a view of the bay in the distance. Staff were friendly. I would certainly stay here again We did struggle to find enough decent restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

I spent two nights at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. The room was very nice. Large with a queen bed and love seat. The hotel itself was very confusing. Lobby was busy. It had three different elevator banks to specific floors. Once on your floor, there were directions where the rooms were located with many hallways. Hotel is located in...

I came here for a conference. I got a great room on the 33td floor with a great view. The room was large. The staff were very nice and helpful. It is close to all the main things. The view on the 39th floor has great views and drinks. I would stay here again

We stayed here for an electrical contracting conference. The hotel was a short walk from the conference center and there were SO many shops, restaurants, retail, etc nearby. Even a beautiful little park with a great water feature and tea room. The 39th floor has a "View" lounge, a must-see. Try to go when it first opens at 4pm because...

Having stayed at many marriotts all over the world, I have to say this is a wonderful property, but what made it an exceptional stay is the staff. The concierge lounge has staff that is friendly and welcoming, everywhere I went the staff was helpful and courteous, in my opinion this particular Marriott made me feel very comfortable, customer service...

Nice room. Very comfortable bed. Mini-fridge was handy with the Target across the street. Gym was a little disappointing - many small rooms, but not great cardio equipment (some broken). Great location if you have business at the Convention Center.

Chose this hotel for its location - walkable to AT&T Park and near other things we wanted to see/do. We had a corner room facing Mission Street, on the 6th floor and it was surprisingly quiet. (I had read so many reviews of San Francisco hotels that talked about the noise!) Well-appointed room, comfortable beds. The TV did not work...

This is a really nice hotel. My arrival, to attend a wedding, was easy, and the room was comfortable and clean. There are all kinds of restaurants very nearby and an easy ride or walk to the water/Ferry building, etc. The gym is one of the best I have seen in a hotel. The only complaint I have is the...

This year I have already spent over 90 nights in Marriott properties and this is the best I have tried. The location is in downtown SF with a motor lobby off Mission Street and convenient other entrances. From the moment I arrived the attention to detail by the staff was impressive as was the use of my name and recognition...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
