We came down for the weekend to take in a show. From the time we arrived for valet parking, to the time we checked out, I noticed that entire staff was both efficient and eager to make every aspect of our stay enjoyable. There were no frowns, no buts, just smiles, and effort.

Easy place to be in the heart of SF. Just don't let the bumping of the hot water pipes worry you. Did not realize why we heard the noise in the morning when getting up. The hotel staff was great and they can handle large conf needs.

Great location in SF, great service, comfortable rooms, plenty of amenities. As an elite member, my experience at the Marriott and Ritz hotels is always a great experience. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant and the ease of check in and check out is hard to beat.

From beginning to the end is a wonderful hotel at a great SF location. The check-in can get busy if there is a conference group (there is almost always a conference in this large convenient hotel) but is fast, friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The 2nd floor premium members lounge is very convenient and good. Lots...

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during conference. Got special rates else I believe because of the location being extremely downtown, the rates are extremely expensive. The stay was in general all fine. Got lots of stuffs to do in the neighbourhood of the hotel. American breakfast was 31 USD and car parking for 24 hours was 75 USD....

This is a great central location for shopping, restaurants and very close to cable car to get to fisherman's warph. The service is excellent. The beds are awesome!!! Best bed I think I've ever slept on. This is an excellent Marriott. This is San Francisco so it is a tad on the pricey side. $16.00 for a glass of house...

The most recent stay at the Marriott Marquis did not live up to Marriott standards. We were "upgraded" to a room that did not have standard windows nor shades so it was difficult to fully close the curtains. In addition, the hotel no longer has room service. Instead you have to place orders through a tablet in your room and...

Our family stayed here over Christmas 2016. It was a very pleasant experience and I wouldn't have an issue with staying here again although it wouldn't be my first choice. It is a very large and busy hotel but this added to the Christmas atmosphere. There were some decorations in the lobby area to add to the atmosphere although these...

Hotel was really great, I loved the corner king room I had, and it was so comfortable. On the 19th floor, the elevator is still not a long wait, room was immaculate, and the service was fantastic no matter where you were in the hotel. My favorite was the gentleman in the gift shop though, he was sincere and had...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.

“The shower took a really long time to warm up - not sure if it was where our room was located, but that was the only issue we experienced. We did have a great view - overlooking the museums.”
