This hotel continues to amaze me. The Staff, Location, and Room Quality are all highlights. Upon arrival, we were greeting by Sylvia. She is an excellent ambassador for the Marriott Brand and she represents this hotel chain exceptionally and professionally very well! I ran into a small issue with my membership number. I had give the old Marriott number, but Sylvia quickly recognized it and courteously asked me if I had the new Bonvoy number (which I did). Sylvia's expertise in the process, and her professional personality were a winning combination. She is also an expert in the local area and was able to provide us with local Covid closures and recommended places to eat. We really appreciated her help and I hope that management recognizes what a wonderful employee they have. One of the first things you will notice about this hotel is the spacious architecture. The front desk area accommodates several parties at a time, and they have shields up to provide social distancing. There are sanitation stations all over the hotel for your safety as well. The room door provides excellent security with electronic locks, and double locking devices on the inside. The rooms are large and spacious. There are a couple of tables and a nice sofa for relaxing or getting some office work done. This is a nice alternative to sitting on the bed or a single chair. The thermostat is easy to set and use. It held the room temperature consistently at the desired setting and no further adjustments were necessary. There is a small refrigerator and a coffee pot available. This was nice because there is a hot/cold food Pantry downstairs so you will have a place to store food if it requires refrigeration. The TV has plenty of stations and the remote is easy to use. One of my personal issues with hotels is when there are no outlets next to the bed for plugging in items or simply recharging devices. That was not an issue at this Marriott property. There are plenty of outlets with regular plugs as well as USB connecting options. These options were available on the wall platform and the CubieTime clock on the night stand next to the bed. As mentioned earlier, there is a Pantry located downstairs just off of the main lobby. You can order salads or hot foods as well as have snacks that you can pick up yourself. Because of this hotel's location, there are also plenty of places nearby (within walking distance) to eat. There is a security staff at the main entrance so feeling safe is a good feeling. Overall, this is one of my favorite hotels and I would highly recommend it to all of my friends. It is excellent for business trips as well as just a quick get-away to see the city of San Francisco. Give it a try and be sure to say hello to Sylvia and the rest of the staff. I'm sure that they will help make your stay a memorable experience!…
I usually stay at Hilton hotel when visiting San Francisco. The Hilton hotel was unavailable, so I decided to stay at the Marriott Marquis. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of great service and cleanliness. My room was spectacular and I was very happy with the mobile check-in. This was a pleasant stay to get away from home during the pandemic.
Please avoid this hotel at ALL costs! This is a pretty rough area with limited parking availability. I had to park almost two blocks away and there were homeless people everywhere. The parking structure that the Marquis directed me to was about two blocks away and charged $40. It was very unsafe and scary considering I had no knowledge of the surrounding area. I was provided a final bill of zero dollars upon checkout since I unable to secure one of their limited $80 per night parking spots. Upon checking my online statements today I was appalled to see a $250 SMOKING CHARGE! (I DIDN’T SMOKE ANYTHING) This hotel is obviously in trouble financially and has resorted to making up frivolous charges! DON’T stay here! I asked for a room with “city view” and was situated in a corner room with a view of the surrounding skyscrapers....no skyline in sight! I’m almost certain these smoking charges were concocted due to the fact I used my Priceline VIP gold rate! Do your research and search for a safer, honest location! I have NEVER had this type of experience with a hotel! PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN THIS LOCATION AFTER DUSK!!!!! If 0 stars was an option that would be my review!…
I must say I loved my stay here! It is a huge hotel with wonderful views and the rooms are so beautiful! The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in! I also needed some white noise (such as a fan that other CA hotels had), since their AC is so quiet. I laughed when I saw there was an actual white noise machine on the nightstand! WIN! Turned that baby on and morning came quick. I’ve never slept so perfectly, and I am ordering one of those machines for home! I was very impressed with the friendliness and cleanliness of the hotel. Disappointed the restaurant/bar were closed due to COVID, but it’s not their fault. Next time..
We checked in yesterday at 1:30 and out at 7:30. We came to stay overnight, just to get out of the house. The hotel is nice and clean. We booked an executive suite and were given a larger suite - which was a plus. We just wished there had been a touch of hospitality. For instance, we have twin 3 year olds - how about more than 2 towels for a family of 4? We know that services are curtailed due to COVID - we just didn’t expect no glasses in the room, having to ask for everything (towels, robes, etc.). We thought there may be abbreviated club lounge service, or an amenity in lieu - no. We got a room. We were uncomfortable and decided to go home, checking out just hours later, we were not asked how our stay was, why we were leaving early. Just, “you’re all set.” 3 stars is not bad - it’s average. …
