The old tagline "You get no surprises at Holiday Inn" certainly holds true here. Very average property with reasonably up to date rooms is fine for business travel. Neighborhood may be a bit sketchy after dark. Food and beverage is tolerable but big city hotel priced. Ask for a room on an upper floor. No views of anything down low.

Nice enough, in the northernmost part of soma. Parking onsite for $45/night. Construction outside, noisy at night, hotel provided earplugs. Close enough to public transport. Clean, need keycard to use elevators and publuc bathrooms.

Holiday Inn San Francisco Civic Center requires active guest key cards to access all guest rooms/floors, facilities, and elevators for additional peace of mind for our valued guests. Parking accommodations in San Francisco are an additional charge as the city has very limited property allocated for car storage. Our hotel offers considerable parking conveniences with a secured facility, 24 hour...

I booked this hotel mainly because of the price and it was one of those rare hotels that allows 2 adults with 2 kids in one room. Most of the hotels I surveyed in the San Francisco area required us to book 2 rooms. I did not manage to check Trip Advisor before booking so was not aware of the...

After reading the reviews here it sounded like this hotel was in the middle of some unsightly Detroit neighborhood. I had to drop my rental car off at Hertz on 10th and Howard and walked with two pieces of luggage to this hotel. I had no problems whatsoever walking to the hotel. As a matter of fact I had no...

Thank you for your recommendation of our hotel and support of our neighborhood! It is true that some guests do not always know what to expect of the typical urban experience, but it sounds as though you have an appreciation for the charm of it. It was our pleasure to host your stay in San Francisco and we look forward...

Stayed here for a couple of nights and first impression is given by the neighborhood which, as many postings suggest, is not so great and I did find it intimidating. Also had issues with the hotel internet access and the reception desk told me to phone their technical support (!). I did this twice and was told that the hotel...

It dismays us to hear that our neighborhood was not depicted in the best of light during your stay. We apologize if the internet was not available in your assigned room and are excited to report that we have been making a concerted effort to upgrade our wifi reception with our service provider to better deliver signal to our guests....

Stayed there at this hotel when went to attend a conference. The only reason I stayed here was it's location. 5 min. drive to UCSF, where my conference was. Rooms are okay. But the in-room dining is very minimal. Being vegetarian, there wasn't even a single option!

Traveling for work can be a production and Holiday Inn San Francisco Civic Center is pleased to hear that we were conveniently located to suit your business needs at the University of California, San Francisco. Our restaurant, 50onEight, does have some vegetarian options, including one of our main entrées, the Jumbo Cheese Ravioli. However, we apologize if the selection was...

I stayed at this hotel while in San Francisco for business. While the hotel showed signs of being upgraded within the past few years, it is beginning to show signs of wear. Upon arrival in my room I noticed the complimentary earplugs. Not a good sign of things to come. The things to come included garbage trucks at 3:30 am,...

Due to the high demand of San Francisco’s urban real estate, there is very limited property set aside for parking accommodations. As such, hotels located in the downtown area that have car storage facilities do have to offer the optional accommodation as an extra expense. We do our best to provide a competitive rate for our guests with our secure,...

The hotel is ok. We were to have five nights there with our two young children (6 and 10yrs). Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
