I was in Handlery Hotel last December. The receptionist had a bad vibe and was disrespectful. He gave me a very small room, with windows facing a wall and bathroom that was freezing cold with no heat. The next day I spoke to the Hotel Manager and he upgraded my room and it made a huge difference! The Hotel itself...

We booked our family trip (two adults, a 21 and 23 year old) to SF not realizing that getting a hotel in SF would be like getting rooms in Europe -- difficult to find one room with 2 queen beds that would accommodate all of us. Who wants to pay for two rooms when all you are doing in sleeping...

You can use the hotel parking /very convenient in San Francisco and then use Luft or Uber to get around. Check out the ironwork under the banisters in hallways. Beautiful old craftwork. Also showcases in Lobby with old artifacts from the hotel. Do go to the bar!!! Great drinks and great lighter fare. Breakfast very busy but very good.

The hotel is beautiful, location perfect. The concierge is very helpful, answered all of our questions every day and made suggestions. The bartender provided very good service and was very friendly. The rooms are clean, spacious and luxurious, beds very comfy. I loved the separate vanity area from the bathroom. I had never been to San Francisco before and it...

There were 4 of us that went in for a girls night in the city. We had reserved the KGO package which included parking and 20% off at the attached restaurant. We had decided to all stay in the same room understanding it would be cozy. When I made the reservation I told them expecting and additional charge they said...

We decided to push the boat out to have a real honeymoon 25 years after the fact and chose Handlery hotel when recommended it by friends. We arrived quite tired from our long flight and were shown our room. Initial reaction was not good, it was supposed to be a suite but the room was tiny, dark and no view....

Stayed here for 4 nights in June 2016. Very nice centrally located hotel. It is very old and the age shows in the rooms. But that said they are very well equipped and have a certain quaintness to them. When you exit the hotel you are a 30 second walk to union square and 2 mins to the cable car...

I hope this review saves at least one person from staying at this hotel. I booked a stay for four nights, but only made it through two nights before paying to move elsewhere. It's old, smells awful, and is incredibly outdated. I think Expedia, Hotels.com, and other travel sites try to push people to this property. But trust me on...

Union Square is a great place to stay if you're going to SF to see the city and the Handlery is a great value right on the square. We walked everywhere- Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Chinatown, Japantown, etc... all from here with no problems. There were never less than 5 Uber drivers within 2 minutes if we wanted to go...

Hotel presents very well on first arrival, upon entering the staff are professional and clean. The hotel it's self is old but the bath room was refurbish. The only downside of the hotel was the noise, there was a lot of yelling and screaming coming from below the hotel alleyway. The hallway leading past my door was quite noisy to...
