This hotel worked out so well for us! It is only one block from the Chinatown gate - so at anytime we were unsure how to get back, the bus drivers all knew. The rooms are the tiniest I've ever seen but very, very clean and the help staff was phenomenal!

Yes, this was the absolute tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in ... but that was not an issue! Yes, it was a bit noisy (from the adjoining rooms, the hallway, and the alley located right outside our room), but we were so exhausted from the day's activities that none of that mattered. What was more important to us...

San Francisco. Home of streets that go UPPPP and streets that go DOWNNNNN. Shudder. We booked this hotel because we wanted to be as close to my granddaughter as possible and she lives in Chinatown. Don't ask me how a university student wound up living in Chinatown but it seems to suit her. Were we close or what? 4 buildings...

I have stayed at this hotel before and this year I returned to stay here again. The Hotel has been completely renovated, from the lobby, hallway to the room and bathroom. This Hotel always provide good value and now is even better with the new renovation.

Rooms are small, cramped. Bathroom fixtures need work. View was of a wall. Parking is not provided. Just a place to sleep. Not a nice comfort if you want to hang around. There are some places for restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Pier 39 is within a 1/2 to 1 miles walking. Located By the Bay Bridge. Would not...

Great wee hotel in the Chinatown district of San Francisco. Rooms are small but enough room for couples and single travellers plus in the city you don't want to spend too much time inside anyway! It was clean, well maintained and the staff were all friendly.

I will start by saying this hotel is in a fantastic location, walking distance to everything in San Francisco city and the young girl at the front desk is super lovely and helpful.. BUT, the double beds are very uncomfortable, the rooms are the size of a shoe box and you can hear ever step everyone takes in the place....

This hotel recently underwent an impressive renovation and is one of the best bargains in San Francisco. Located just inside the gates of Chinatown, the rooms are simple, clean and newly decorated; the desk staff friendly and the location just steps from dozens of shops and restaurants. Easy access to MUNI and BART stations. The only negatives are a lack...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
