My third stay in a year in this hotel. The junior suite, with its separate living room, gives me a feeling of my own small apartment central in down-town SF. The staff is always friendly. The Oysters flushed with an ice-cold (local Venus 02 barrel-aged) gin tonic, as served in the restaurant, a real treat. This time, WiFi was very...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Galleria the weekend after Valentine's Day for a nice staycation getaway. The hotel was in an absolute perfect location for all of the activities we had planned and the sights we wanted to see. Very easy to locate and was just a quick uber away from Crissy field, golden gate park, and various...

If you like a hotel with nice rooms, dont stay here. The website has nothing to do with what is offered. This is in fact a pretty old buiding. The hall leading to the rooms smells of wet carpet and the room itself was small, overheated and noisy. And ugly. There is no breakfast served which is not good when you...

Dear Emysp, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the room you received. When our availability permits we are always more than happy to explore alternate room options for our guests to find the most comfortable fit. Unfortunately, we were fully committed during your stay with us due to a large conference in town. I am pleased...

The hotel is well located in the city centre between Union Square and the business district. The hotel was clean and I enjoyed their free wine tasting in the late afternoon. Small luxury! The hotel gym was also good, although a bit small.

Great hotel, right in the middle of San Francisco, easy to walk everywhere from AT&T park to fishermans wharf to China town, staff go above and beyond only real criticism is the sound proofing to the outside.

I stayed at the 8th floor of this boutique hotel. It felt comfortable and homey, almost no-frills. Rooms are small but the bathrooms are newly renovated. Front desk staff were professionally friendly. Location-wise it's within walking distance to the Ferry Building, the financial district, and Union Square. It's not spectacular by any means but has more character than a typical...

The hotel is in a great location. Central to getting to transport, Chinatown, Union Square and restaurants. Room was a good size for a city hotel. Lovely comfy bed, good storage, good toiletries and nice bathroom. We had a room facing the street which was quite noisy, and as the hotel is an older hotel, there was quite a lot...

The hotel was very nice. Everything in the room is new and clean. The bathroom was a bit small, with no bathtub and an awkwardly positioned temperature control for the shower (can't turn it on without getting wet). They only provide one regular coffee pod in the room. You have to ask for more which is annoying when you find...

My husband just checked out today and spend half of our visit with no power or heat (and it was very cold outside). We were on the 3rd floor (the only floor affected by a more than 12 hour power outage), and we were never offered a new room or compensation for any part of our trip. The desk clerk...

I really enjoyed our stay at Galleria Park Hotel! Such a quaint boutique hotel! I found it through Hotels Tonight app, and was able to find a good last minute booking deal for a Saturday night. I was really happy to be able to bring our large golden retriever too. No extra fee and no weight limit = big plus....

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco, Galleria Park gives you easy access to everything the Bay Area has to offer to its visitors. The hotel is located with easy access to the Bay Area's central transit systems of BART, MUNI and the fabled cable cars. Within blocks are Union Square, Chinatown, the Financial District, Moscone Convention Center, and several world-class museums. The hotel is just steps away from world-class shopping destinations in Union Square--an area that is definitely a tribute to the power of shopping. Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Gump's and a very substantial Macy's are right on the Union Square. The venerable Bullock and Jones and Tiffany and Co. are within walking distance, as is the nine-story Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre with its three-level Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's. It is also a center for exclusive couture and high fashion, with boutiques dedicated to Betsey Johnson, Kate Spade, Herve Leger, Karen Miller, and Michael Kors. Post Street, which is a block away from Galleria Park is where the high-end stores are located including Ralph Lauren, Ferragamo, Juicy Couture, Tory Burch, Ferrari and Porsche clothing stores. ... more   less
