Great stay. Good location, the room was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. For SF the rate I got was very reasonable. Most of the items of interest in the city were within walking distance or a short Uber ride.

Nice place to stay for business trip. One downside - restaurant in hotel was closed Sunday-Monday. Rooms are bright and cheerful. Guest services at front desk and door were excellent and staff were very helpful.

I like boutique hotels and this one delivered on all the pleasantries of such! It is in a wonderful location in Nob Hill close to many delicious restaurants and within walking distance to lots of sights in San Francisco. It was very clean and welcoming. I booked the Sir Edmond Hilary suite for my husband and two teenage boys and...

Stayed at Hotel Carlton for 4 nights and loved the central location. It was walking distance to everything and close to restaurants and cafes. The hotel was surprisingly large for a boutique hotel and the rooms were spacious for SF standards. The best thing was the service- all employees we came across were helpful, professional and friendly! Only negative is...

The service, cleanliness and location are excellent. The breakfast is very good. In my opinion, the only downside is the parking, a bit expensive. If I had to add something, it would be a gym. Despite this if I went back to San Francisco I would stay here again.

After an awful experience at another hotel, my girlfriend and I caught an Uber over to Hotel Carlton (a hotel I have stayed at before and had enjoyed). We were warmly greeted by staff, something we needed very much after the experience we had just endured. We were then given a lovely room on the 8th floor with a street...

Lovely boutique type welcoming hotel, with friendly and very helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble for them, small but comfortable room, great location to explore, near to Union Square, quirky idea of happy hour where free wine is served freely whilst relaxing for an hour after exploring San Fran, with a little live music thrown in too, highly recommended.

Well situated location. Comfortable rooms. Pleasant staff. Very helpful staff. Good restaurants in the area as well in the hotel. Convenient to numerous locations and a bus line. The beds were very comfortable.

Only in San Francisco - a hotel of this standard can have high ratings. Hotels are generally expensive and crappy - this is at least cheap (with SF-standards) and crappy. Bathroom smells of mold, and the rooms are of poor standard. I would definitely stay somewhere else next time in SF.

A really nice hotel!! Not too central, which is a little annoying but in walking distance to pretty much everywhere. The hotel room was fantastic, two double beds, brilliant. Bathroom had a bath and a shower, which I was very impressed with. Live music, but doesn't keep you awake. The staff are lovely and so very helpful. Highly Recommend!
