Hotel Bilou is a perfect place to start from if you want to explore the city on foot. It is located only five minutes from Union Square and Market Street. If you follow the street way up Nob Hill, it will take you directly to Fisherman's Wharf or Chinatown in half an hour. This part of San Francisco is loud... More

This updated whimsical hotel is a fun place. Theater is closed (not mentioned on website) and turning into restaurant. This hotel is cleaned and people are courteous. The complementary coffee and/or tea were nice. After 6-7 pm the homeless swell the streets and the bar across the street made this location noisy and scary. It was bum nation. My family... More

Dear Yadira, First thank you for your review of our property. We pride ourselves in how we can positively impact our guest's stay in San Francisco. Like any other big city, we do have our issues with the Tenderloin. We are located right on the border of the Tenderloin and downtown San Francisco. We are currently working on our new... More

Small Rooms, bad location for Central Area, a lot of poor peoples in that area, noisy zone, very expensive for what they offer and "tricky" way for travel to Airport by "check-out" call reception. I will not recommend for a Family trip in SF.

Hotel Bijou's location cannot be beat, especially as a business traveler on a budget who needed to stay close to Union Square. The hotel is eclectic and eccentric, show casing the Golden Age of Hollywood. Each room has a star on the door and is named after a different movie. The rooms are rather tight, with little wiggle room. Closet... More

It's not easy to find a good, clean bargain in downtown San Francisco. The Hotel Bijou has everything you need: clean, safe, wi-fi, morning coffee and yogurt. There are no plush extras, but the price is right. The desk is very friendly, efficient and helpful. The rooms are compact. The bathroom has a good, newish shower. Towels are adequate. We... More

Most of the reasons not to love this hotel have to do with the outside. Sketchy noisy neighborhood. We were on the 6th floor and even then we can hear people drinking and shouting out in the street at all times. And when I say "see" I am being generous because actually the windows were quite dirty on the outside.... More

Hotel is super close to the Union Square. The hotel lobby looks kind of sad compared to the pictures online, so when we arrived we were kind of sceptic. However, rooms were pretty nice! Clean, spacious and overall good.

Knowing we would be arriving after midnight, I called the hotel early in the day to let them know. They assured me this was OK. We arrived around 3am, only to be told that our room with two beds was no longer available. We'd paid extra for the room, but they offered no compensation for the difference. Multiple attempts were... More

Ideally located near Union Square, you can stay here and save big money to go shopping along the Market Street high brand stores nearby. Themed with the idea of an old movie house and displaying dozens of old pics and paintings of stars and theaters from decades ago, classics all, my college degree in mass media and love of old... Very small room, very comfy bed. No air conditioning but it is so cold in San Francisco that you don't need it. Perfect location to visit the city. Walking distance to all possible type of transportation: Bart, cable car, 2 decks buses (City sightseeing tour bus). Walking distance the the big mall. I bought the Go Pass San Francisco, paid...
