If your looking for a modern hotel then look else where, and if you stayed here and was disappointed then you missed the point. This hotel is charming and in a time warp, but thats a good thing. I loved the quaint lifts and wood panelling ..I half expected to bump into Karl Malden from the 'The Streets Of San...

I would not have booked this hotel myself however it was part of a cruise package which included this hotel so hopefully it will be OK??. On arrival we were really concerned as it smelt very strange and looked like it was stuck in a time warp however I had checked trip advisor and asked for a front facing room...

Ok, let's get something straight from the get go: San Francisco is a fabulous but fiercely expensive little city. This ultimately impacts the cost of accommodation, and to find a decent hotel at a reasonable rate you have to monitor prices hard. Or you substitute comfort for location, such is the case at the Beresford. This hotel is conveniently located...

Hotel Beresford has a fantastic location, being just a block from Union Square. The rooms were clean, though rather old. Bed was fine, and the room was quite save for some kind of air conditioning unit just outside. In the room I had the window was old fashioned and did not completely close, which made me nervous leaving my bags...

It is an old hotel that has so much charm. The staff were all very pleasant and the elevator was a treat. We stayed 4 nights on the 5th floor, in a comfortable queen bed. Our room was quite small and the bathroom even smaller. There were few electrical outlets. I had no issues with plumbing, water temperature/pressure or lack...

I was working in SF a week ago and stayed here for three nights. Such a cool old hotel built on op of a bar but the staff were the absolute worse. The day I arrived the lay at the front desk was in an argument with a woman staying at the hotel. She passed her along for an hour...

This hotel is simple and clean, very well located and has a small but important breakfast. The beds are good. The bathroom a bit small, but was ok. the bedroom in average, but to spend all day out it was perfect.

We could have coped with the very old decor , furniture and creaky lift and even the sweet wrappers on our bedroom floor but the rudeness and total lack of interest from the lady who checked us in was unacceptable. Most of the other staff followed her example. Good location but I would not recommend.
