I enjoyed the hotel and my room I've stayed in the smallest one and was a pleasant surprise, even if the room was small. It was perfect for me as I're traveling alone on business purpose. I liked a lot the reception staff, mostly the night people that helped me to understand the city. The continental breakfast is good, but...

I booked this hotel a few months in advance for a pretty decent rate in comparison to other places in the area. I compared this hotel's room size and amenities to others in the area and found that they were comparable- so for a much cheaper price we chose Mystic. I had a realistic expectation of what we were headed...

After a wonderful week in California, our "stay" at Mystic completely ruined our last day of vacation. We booked our room through Expedia, and arrived shortly after midnight. The reservation was accidentally made in a relative's name (I had just booked another room for him.) I pointed out the correct name. The front desk lady told us she couldn't check...

We booked the king suite because the room description indicated there would be a couch bed that we could use for our adult daughter. The couch was big enough for a child and did not pull out. There was no bedding for the couch available. My daughter who was going to stay with us had to stay elsewhere. Also, no...

The Mystic is a well presented little hotel on Stockton St on the CBD side of the Stockton Bridge. On our arrival (8pm) we could hear a great little jazz band playing from the bar on 2nd floor. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Heading out for dinner with friends we arrived back at 11.30, jazz band Still cranking along...

We went with colleagues after dinner. They have great scotch and a lot of choices from Japanese whisky. Hibiki and Yamazaki are my favorites. The live jazz was also great. You can either go for dinner or to the bar as they have both.

The best about this hotel is the location. It is centrally located at Union Square. When we arrived we got a smaller room with a door connecting to another room. Wake up in the night and could hear everything from the neighbooring room. Terrible! I just hoped my son would not wake up.. We requested a room change the next...

My husband and I had an amazing experience during our stay at the Mystic - front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very clean with trendy/modern furnishings and a fully stocked minibar with lots of interesting goodies! We enjoyed dinner at the Burritt Room downstairs and were completely satisfied with both the service and the food...

Who would have thought that a city-wide power outage would be the high point of our stay? Was told that regardless of power issues, we would be charged if we went to another hotel. No bellmen, doorman, etc. It took half an hour to get two drinks at the almost empty bar, burned out lights in room, only one coffee...

I was lucky to find this boutique hotel in San Francisco- straight walk off Powell Bart station (around 15 min) and union square. Breakfast and wifi included. No AC but ceiling fan and have stayed here about 5 times and didn't miss it. Rooms are different in a good way. Comfy bed. Good food and bar area is fun. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mystic Hotel Union Square San Francisco by Charlie Palmer is a smart, sleek retreat situated in the heart of the city's busiest neighborhoods. Conveniently located just one block from the iconic cable car line in the middle of three key destinations – Union Square, Chinatown and the Financial District — Mystic Hotel offers a convenient, comfortable and unique modern boutique hotel experience in a historic location. With a contemporary look and feel, our accommodations are designed to reflect the changing need of today's traveler. Enjoy high-touch service and an ideal Union Square location, perfect for travelers looking to experience all the adventures of San Francisco. Like a private club, enjoy handcrafted cocktails in the Burritt Room, the intimate film noir-inspired bar named for Burritt Alley, where detective Sam Spade's partner Miles Archer was gunned down in The Maltese Falcon. Then, step into the speakeasy vibe of renowned Chef Charlie Palmer’s adjoining Burritt Tavern, where walled-in and curtained booths create dark corners for private conversations and Executive Chef Luke Knox turns out classic food like steaks and chops done right. Knox also takes advantage of Bay area's tremendous green markets as well as the extraordinary offerings from local food artisans in menus built around prized regional specialties from Dungeness crab to West Coast oysters. That's what we like about San Francisco: it's up to the minute and still in the moment. ... more   less
