The description for this hotel is a bit misleading; it is 1/2 mile from Union Square and on the outskirts of the Tenderloin district. Had I done my research better (I blame myself) I would not have had my family here - San Francisco has bums and trash everywhere but it is more pronounced in this area. It can be...

Standard Courtyard. Nothing great or bad about it. BUt do ask for good view, and beware that although it isn't that far from the other Marriott or the main parts for downtown..it is up a very steep hill, and if you think you'll walk from Bart to the hotel..you will sweat. Due to this, this NEW hotel is little less...

jim c - Thank you for taking time to share your feedback. I realize that The Courtyard San Francisco Union Square is in somewhat of a unique location but hope that our customer care was nothing short of what you except when staying at a Marriott Courtyard Hotel. I appreciate your feedback.

We stayed here 3 nights. The location is very central, many places (not the golden gate bridge except when you like long walks) are in walking distance. Also lot of restaurants and bars closeby, only feels a bit unsafe due to many wandering/drugged people around (but seems problem in all SF). Our hotel room was small but very comfortable. Nice...

Thank you "Nancy D" for your positive review of the Courtyard Union Square. Just three blocks from the Powell Street cable car and Union Square, our hotel is a good jumping off point for sightseeing, theatre, dining and shopping. Our "friendly staff" are happy to arrange tours of the city and beyond like wine excursions to Napa. Yours in Hospitality.

We are very happy we picked this hotel as our home base during our recent visit to SF. Modern design, a nice bistro for breakfast and a quick bite. Internet is good. We walked to all the tourist attractions and shops. I would definitely recommend the Courtyard San Francisco Union Square!

Located just up the road from Union Square, this is different from your usual Courtyard hotel. We arrived late on our first day. We were given an adapted suite on the ground floor (Room 101). The room was huge with a massive wet room ensuite. There was a window that looked out onto nothing but a wall and some steel...

Thank you for taking the time to provide your honest feedback about our hotel. The room you stayed in is one of our largest floor plans and hope you enjoyed the extra space. We will be looking into the heating system to see if there is any adjustments we can make to minimize the noise issue. The hotel is located in...

The hotel is not exactly in Union Square. And it's not like usual Courtyard format, which is fine. The rooms are smallish, bathrooms are very small, which you can expect in large cities. No place to put anything in the bathroom. But the rooms are very clean and the bed was comfortable. This was my second visit to this property...

Be clear, unless the neighborhood boundaries have been changed, this hotel is NOT in Union Square. It boarders Union Square but it's in the Tenderloin. That being said the surrounding aren't too bad and there are some cute neighborhood eateries. The hotel is dark and the rooms are tiny. Also, the elevators do not have secure access. So anyone can...

Thank you for taking the time to provide your honest feedback about our hotel. I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience. I am looking into the issues you described with the elevator and housekeeping to ensure we get them corrected immediately. The hotel is located in a historical building so some of the rooms are somewhat...

great location - Union Square is about 200m down the road. very friendly staff. we stayed in a double beds room - and it was a bit tight - one of the beds was attached to the window's wall, and there was almost no place in the room to move, or even to have one luggage open. in fact, there...

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience. It sounds like the staff and location created a mostly good stay. I completely understand your comments about the room. We are currently working on ways to improve the bathroom's functionality like adding more storage. We are also constantly thinking of ways to improve the functionality of the smaller rooms as...

We like many others fell into the trap of thinking Union Square meant this hotel was right in the midst of Union Square. However, it was about a 10 minute walk from Union Square which wasn't an issue for us. The hotel rooms were really clean, and nicely furnished. However, the bathroom in our room was a bit compact but...
