I have stay twice at The Fitzgerald and would chance it again. A quaint hotel close to absolutely everything you could ask for in SF. Walking distance to Union Square, to which all roads lead. Fantastic street life, restaurants, theatres and galleries in every direction. You won't be staying in your room long, so if it's just you, the small...

I stayed at the Fitzgerald with two business associates. One stayed in my room, the other had her separate room on the 6th floor. The hotel is well situated. My room, on the ground floor, could have been in Amsterdam in the red light district because it was obviously a conversion from probably a gift shop to a room because...

I took a bit of a risk staying here because of all the iffy weird reviews i read on this place. But i can now happily say that it was all great! Hotel is located 2 blocks from Union Square, surrounded by awesomeness. The staff was nothing but helpful and yes, the elevator is tiny, old school, and i barely...

What a great place! We stayed for 4 days. When we arrived after 14 hours of travelling we found out that our travel agent made a mistake with the payment. The hotel manager Nicola solved the situation perfect with the travel agent. She upgrades our room from the next night for free. The neighberhood is great. Lots of nice restaurants...

Actually I enjoyed it very much, but still not a 5 stars for me. Advantages: 1- Very close to city center 2- Near to most of the attractions and also near the Market street where all public transportations are available. 3- Nice staff 4- the room is well equipped with antiques 5- good value for money Disadvantages 1- small rooms...

You are paying 25% of the hotels 2 blocks away you can't expect it to be the same. This hotel is very San Francisco same as most of the apartment s in the area older elevator small room large bath clean. Friendly helpful staff occasionally a cute welcome puppy. I was a little nervous for the price. Rooms do not...

Wow this Hotel nearly spoilt our San Francisco Holiday and misrepresented themselves from the Pictures on their website and in general. The one piece of advice that I will say is to ASK FOR AND BOOK A RENOVATED ROOM for any Hotel in S.F. All the pictures for this hotel are renovated rooms. We were allocated an old tired and...

I thought most of the reviews would be one off issues or picky travellers but they are all spot on. Rooms are tiny, beds uncomfortable and walls paper thin. We barely got a wink of sleep one night due to next door coming in and out every 30 mins or so. The staff are nonchalant, the English lady was nice...

The Fitzgerald Hotel was well located, near Union Square and the price was right. Unfortunately, they are renovating it now, so maybe in a year or so it will be better. Don't get a room that overlooks the parking lot in back though, sounded like there was a party back there every night. The bed needed to be thrown out...

We got to the hotel at 8 am after a long bus trip from LA to SF and the receptionist kindly agreed to give us a room before check in which was meant to be at 3 pm - We really appreciated that. Although the room was small, it was very clean and comfortable. However, we knew that room would...

Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed your room knowing that it was the 'petite' size and was therefore the most affordable option, designed for travelers who want to stick to a budget and have more resources to enjoy San Francisco! Since we're so close to the downtown there's not much need to stay in one's room, anyway. We...
