Had a satisfactory stay at the Embassy. People are very kind. Clean facilities. A bit small and not so modern. But overall it was an average experience. No breakfast but Wi-Fi is free. Nice small parking lot near the hotel.

This hotel was my first impression of California. I visited here in June 2015 with my 11year old son. It was so bad we both cried as soon as we got to our room. The lift was like something from the 1940's and didn't take us all the way up. Our floor smelled of cannabis and had people that looked... More

Stayed at embassy early August 2016 for four nights. First two nights were virtually sleepless with constant street noise of sirens, paperthin walls with noisy neighbours and roof noises every time the floor above was walked on. The room itself was clean and tidy, however the shower was lukewarm at best with no pressure. After two nights of disruption we... More

Very bad experience. I had paid top dollar for my stay here through a travel agent but looks like I have been conned heavily. It is just a boutique hotel and not a 4-star one, which I had paid for. The hotel is located in a busy city area surrounded by so many homeless and drug addicted people, and the... More

Wasn't our first choice of hotel, but considering the other options in the surrounding area, this one was great! Room was clean. I don't think there was AC in the room, but we weren't spending much time in the room when it was warm outside and the evenings are cool in San Francisco anyway--no biggy. The toilet flushed really loud,... More

The positives: This hotel was mostly clean and comfortable. There was no in room AC, but it wasn't necessary during my stay. The decor was cute, and downstairs in the lobby there is a little cafe that serves sandwiches and coffee. The staff was nice, and it is close to the civic center muni station, so we were easily able... More

Sadly this hotel uses a water heater which management turn on at 4.30 in the morning. Even when it is switched off it thumps and clunks so loudly you can't sleep. The shower was also very poor. The surrounding area is not great for young children as there are many homeless and mentally unstable people nearby.

The rooms were very clean and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor was unique. The rooms are basic.....there was no fridge, safe, coffee making facilities. There was also no bar or restaurant (in contrast with what the trip advisor description says). My main issue was the location.....the hotel borders on an area that did not appear particularly... Very low quality hotel. No a/c in room. Floors squeeked. Could hear conversations next door. Elevator was 13 years out of inspection. Staff did not even question when we told them we were leaving after checking in for 1 hour.

Where to begin?! DO NOT judge this hotel by its lobby. The lobby makes it look like a decent hotel (which is how the get you in) but the rooms are horrible. They smell dingy, there is no AC (if we are hot we can open the window to sleep but also have to hear everything going on outside, including... More
