This place came up on an Internet booking site and was way cheaper than the rest. It's in a safe location near the presidio and Golden Gate Bridge so I thought it would be at least decent. Boy was I wrong. (See the pictures) the place is really run down. My room was facing Lombard so it was noisy all...

Last minute decision to stay overnight in San Francisco and our favorite place to stay didn't have any rooms left. So I looked for something that was less expensive. As is the case - you get what you pay for. The person at the front desk was very nice. There is a pool - but it had a sign saying...

The motel looks like ordinary motel. Room doesn´t look so bad, but our room was untidy and disgusting. Bathroom wasn´t clean too! In the fridge were leftovers maybe from previous visitors.... We are not demanding, but everytime we are expecting CLEAN.

What is this place!!!!! was the first thing i wondered when i entered it last week. The management use photos of the new building which is several stories high and modern... what they dont show is the original accomodation which is an old 2 story motel complete with mould, bugs and a bed from the 1950's. Once my wife and...

While San Francisco is generally very expensive, I found this motel to be quite overpriced despite the fact that's its on the lower end of budget hotels. You just don't get much for your money. The room was large and spacious but many of the appliances such as the heaters were broken and the furniture is very old. There is...

Had a really good experience with a two night stay. Was in an excellent location for the price and the family room was very large. We were well looked after at the front desk and allowed us to park our car for a few extra hours after check out. Coffee in office was pretty good and free!

Ok, so there's nothing new about this place. But we stayed for 3 nights in one of the suite rooms. It was large with a nice sitting area. Lots of windows that we opened to let in the breeze. It was conveniently located in the Marina District so we walked everywhere, with lots of restaurant options just a couple of...

The Alpha Suites are like a typical off the TV cheap motel. There's a pool (which was closed without reason) and the rooms are separate to the reception behind a car park (think Bates Motel but without all the weird stuff). The rooms are dated and basic but hygienic enough. Would I stay there again? Maybe. At the end of...

This place is not clean at all . Cheap stay is hard to find in San Francisco but rooms should atleast be clean for some one to stay in . Room walls show signs of mold , water was leaking in washroom , bad odour smell , chairs had so much stain and it looked like it was never cleaned...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
