This B&B is a gem. I was worried that it wouldn't be great, being that they are so popular. Nothing could be less true, the couple who run the B&B have kept the standards high. The place is charming. The rooms are on the smallish side, but decorated with taste. We had a room with shared bathroom. The room had...

Both my wife and I stayed here for the 1st 2 nights of our honeymoon. After that we drove around California. We liked this place so much that we made sure to book in for our return to San Fran before flying home. Wonderful staff, lovely pets, with a fantastic atmosphere. The location can't be beaten either. If we are...

My sister and I fondly called our room Grandma's attic. It was so quaint and cozy. The customer service at the hotel is better than I could even imagine. From suggestions for outing, help with directions, welcoming smiles and small kindnesses throughtout our stay... it was superb. Great central location, easy to get around with mass transit and walking. Can't...

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 20 year old daughter. We were able to walk most places from there and it was well located to catch public transport. Breakfast and afternoon tea were both provided, both were excellent. Staff were lovely, as were the dog and cat in residence. The rooms, common areas etc were all decorated in...

We had to move round the corner from our previous hotel who couldn't accommodate us for our 4th night. We turned up early morning with suitcases and a very pleasant courteous young man took them to store for us as our room wasn't ready. When we arrived back late afternoon we were greeted by an older gentleman who took us...

A friend and I recently stayed here and it was just wonderful! The staff were very helpful and friendly and it felt like the family owned place that it is, complete with a resident cat and sometimes resident dogs. Location is perfect, less than a block from the cable car, and a short walk to Union Square and many other...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer, The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful with an enormous very comfortable bed and good quality furniture. There was a tv in our room, and access to wifi. Only amenity lacking was coffee making facility in the room. The bathroom...

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay here at the this lovely Victorian B&B. The location was central to many of the neighborhoods that we wanted to see including China Town, Union Square, Financial District, Russian and Nob Hill, North Beach...all within walking distance. Things I loved about the hotel: Pip and Patsy (house cat and dog), old...

Excellent B&B right near everything you would want to do. Just like in real estate, location is important to a hotel. This is not the Mandarin or the Omni. It is a quaint bed and breakfast where you are known by name, greeted by friendly staff and guests and get to have a little animal time if you so desire....

We just spent five nights at the Golden Gate Hotel and absolutely loved it. The staff is very friendly and informative, the rooms are charming and have comfortable beds, and the location was excellent. However, the highlight of our stay at the GG was being welcomed by Pip the cat at the end of a long day of sightseeing and...
