It was a different view of San Francisco. I have stayed in San Francisco many times. This hotel made for a very fun different experience. The hotel is located on the edge of Chinatown. You can walk to the docks and water in a few minutes. If you enjoy Chinese, there are lots of good places to eat. The hotel... More

I stayed here one night in April. My room was on the third floor. It was clean and very quiet.I did not hear any street noise as other reviewers mentioned. I had a quick check in and check out. I left my car with the valet and was given the keys early the next morning during checkout. I was working... More

The outside of motel looks scary but the rooms are clean and quite nice. It is close to everything. Lots of good restaurants close by. The area felt safe even though it doesn't look that great. The street the motel is on has garbage on the street but only 1.5 blocks away in The Italian Restaurant area the streets are... More

This was a very nice hotel. The rates were reasonable and the location was perfect. We were within walking distance of the BART, the piers, nob hill, Little Italy and downtown. The hotel could use a bit of renovating but the room was very clean. I would definitely stay here again. One word if you stay here and walk to... More

My Room was cleaned and stock as needed for a motor inn. Love the free parking! And the location is so convenient to so many sites, attractions and restaurants! I would stay here again the next time I'm in SF!

Second visit here. Still great value with clean rooms yes they are basic, but right in Chinatown with free parking included in the rate you can't beat it. No food service but eateries abound outside on Broadway. If you want clean quiet for not a lot of money , then this is your place.

We picked this place because it was on the edge of china town and offered free parking. A number of other places near here charge a lot per day for a parking spot. A guard was stationed in their lot overnight as added protection. The rooms were good, clean, we were on the backside away from most of the street... More

Spent three days at the RPMI following a long flight to the USA. The room was okay though well dated, including a TV from the previous century. Main positives were the location, allowing easy walking to many interesting destinations, and the parking. The room heater was extremely noisy, needing to be turned off for sleeping. Not much more to add... More

The street side was a little noise and the walls are paper thin, the guests next door where VERY LOUD! The room was clean, the TV was old and no HD TV. But for the price it was ok. We will stay again but on the other side of the hotel.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
