We stayed three nights here. Well positioned on Market street and walking distance to lots of areas like Mission and Castro areas and Noe Valley. Plenty of small restaurants and bars around. Hotel does not have parking but is clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower good. Small rooms and no lift but fine for the visitor who is... More

It is not best but as the price we paid, it was decent. Bed was clean and comfortable, bathroom was share but I didn't have to wait, clean, just hoping that there is at least little chair or table in the bathroom. Neighborhood was little shandy at night time for us but wasn't dangerous. There are lots of homeless, and... More

First off let me say I'm pretty sure the sign for this hotel is broken. I’m pretty sure the ‘S’ fell out of hostel and they just pushed the letters together to form hotel. But I digress, as this is far from a hotel. Where do I begin? Shared bathrooms - window was always open & you'd freeze your boobs... More

Good for budget travelers, but a little on the shabby side. Shared bathrooms and showers, which were sparse but clean and rarely occupied. Bedroom was fine.Small, but clean and neat. Comfortable bed. Looks a little uninviting from the lobby (speak to receptionist through a glass barrier), no elevator and slow wifi, but conveniently located and on such a main strip... More

Location: good, near Church Station. If you go to/from the airport, you need take the no.22 tramway to the 16th Mission station to get BART train. The room is small but quite clean. I prefer some places in center near Union Square but if you go on budget, you could not find a cheaper room.

I have stayed here a lot over the years. Owners come and go here but it still has a good weekly rate (about 50 a night) for such a great location. There is a Safeway, only a couple of minute away. There is lots of mass transit options, restraints etc right there. Also the location feels safe. The hotel its... More

Hotel and room both quite run down. Carpet wasn't clean, room door didn't lock securely, and the broken tiles on the bathroom floor were downright hazardous. Oh, and it's really noisy. And there is free wifi, but it's incredibly slow and intermittent.

The room needed a new carpet and curtains, they are very old and with bad smell. The room was very hot in the afternoon but cools off at night. Nice staff, good location, although parking is really difficult the Hotel has easy access to public transportation and is at walking distance to Castro St.

It's very basic and a bit run down with shared toilet and showers however it's reasonably clean. I do however feel it's a little pricey for what you get. No cooking or kettle facilities! It's location is very good so I guess this is why it's expensive. Located in the Castro and a nice part of town - plus good... More

What you see is what you get. A no frills but clean and well located hotel with shared facilities. It may be dated in decor and fittings but offered clean, safe accommodation if your prepared for some minor compromises.Perhaps more hostel than hotel. Located in Castro on many transport lines, good restaurants and entertainments.

As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation.
