I always stay here for my business trips and always have a good experience. Much more enjoyable than the mega-hotel nearby and much more upscale than some of the other smaller options nearby. Depending on the room and what's going on outside, it can be noisy at night.

Our daughter lives in the area, and I was looking for a good and reasonably priced accommodation. This hotel was recommended by a travel agent who is assisting me with another trip. The room was clean, the breakfast at the Americano restaurant was good & enjoyable, and the area was convenient. While the cost was on the high side, the...

Enjoyed our stay here. Location can't be beat and the rates were good for a San Francisco hotel. The only thing that wasn't so great was the mattress. I haven't stayed in a hotel that didn't have memory foam mattresses in a long time. The mattress was pretty firm and did not have even a foam topper. We tossed and...

Recently visited San Francisco for the International Film Festival. My daughter suggested Hotel Vitale due to proximity to festival venues. Because the hotel could not accommodate my specific room request, they provided me with a complimentary upgrade to a superb room directly overlooking the Embarcadero and the Ferry Building. The room was bright, spacious, and contemporary. Fantastic shower. They might...

Fabulous hotel with outstanding location in the city. Walking distance to AT&T Park, Fishermans Wharf, and great dining options in the Ferry Building. Elegant rooms. Hip bar. We had a wonderful stay and attention by staff was flawless.

Have stayed here numerous times. Great location, really good hotel. Only negative this visit was an incredibly uncomfortable bed and pillow. Made for a rough nights sleep. It's time they upgrade their overall bedding situation. Other than that, it's a fantastic property!

Have been staying here off and on for 7 years but this was last stay. Hôtel is worn and tired. You can tell they are doing nothing to improve and It is showing wear. Called room service for coffee and they said it would be an hour. Ridiculous. Too bad. Used to be a nice place. Look elsewhere.

The hotel property was old and dim. Room services was the worst and on top of taking long to deliver your food they charge you an extra fee for delivery. Cleaning overall was not the best . the hotel looked old and dirty. i did not like Hotel Vitale at all. If you are visiting San Francisco don't stay here...

The location was excellent and the hotel is pet friendly but overall I was disappointed with the condition of the rooms and the amenities. The rooms were clean but small (even for SF) and tired. We also had to pay a $35 "urban fee" but no one bothered to explain what we got for the $35 fee (apparently there was...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
