I visited this last year with friends and it was the cheapest place in San Fran that we could find. I wasn't expecting luxury but I definitely wouldn't stay again. It's in what feels like the dodgiest area in the city (constantly being harassed by people trying to sell us drugs). The place is cramped, dirty and besides the odd...

My fiance and i stayed last year for pride. The clean and friendly environment made our stay very pleasant. Its close to the civic center. And thanks to the location we did not have to use a port-o-potty. Which is why we decided to reserve a room yet again. ;)

I stayed in this place for a while and i can truly say that it s the cheapest place in downtown and good location. If you do not want to spend more money for just sleeping,it is the right choice to stay. By the way i read the other comments written by the others are really overcharge. Ex: information about...

Luckily we were planning on staying in this hostel for one night only. When we arrived the first thing I noticed was the smell, like there hadn't been any fresh air for years. We booked a private double room. The room was big enough for the two of us, there was a small desk, mirror and the bed. In here...

I will never NEVER come back to this hostel!!! I slept at the airport one day before i arrived in the hostel. If i had known how bad this hostel is, i would have spent another night at the airport. In the last 7 month i stayed at manny different accomodations like airbnb, other (much better) hostels, trailers and cars....

Do not stay here. The rooms were so tight, no space to even put a bag. Linen was dirty and already used. There was Broken used syringes out the front of the door. .............................................................................................

Welcome to the place to hide from the thousands of homeless crackheads walking around like zombies in the neighborhood. In this hidden gem you can almost stay safe at while squeezing in with 9 other people in tiny rooms. If you're not scared to avoid showering for days, and have no problem with dirt, bedbugs or toilets that have never...

Do not stay here if you expect to do anything but sleep here. The hostel is located about a half an hour walk from the coast and in an area mainly inhabited by drug dealers and homeless people. The people running the hostel are quite helpful and friendly however. But what they won't do is fix the serious mice problem...

Nothing fancy...a bunk bed in a shared room with bathroom down the hall, and a kitchen/lou ge space donstairs, with a slow but free wifi connection. Rooms are co-ed, so pretty young women might want to beware. It's also in a rough neighborhood. But my fourth floor room was clean and quiet and very cheap, and the young man who...

I stayed here with my husband and some friends at the end of our road trip up the West Coast. We had stayed in many motels and hotels on the way but we ended up at the European Guest House because all other accommodation was booked up. We had all stayed at hostels in the past so we weren't exactly...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
