This unique trendy motel was perfect for what we wanted. moderate price without selling our first born child. It is across from the Zoo, has some great little breakfast eateries within a block, the ocean is close, rooms are clean. There is even a little childrens playground and jucuzzi on site. Chester, their employee was awesome--polite and a very pleasant...

Good quiet location in SF. The muni is nearby, we didn't really find it that noisy at all. By car, you are a short drive to everything else in SF. The cleaning staff does an excellent job maintaining the rooms and grounds. The carpet in the room we stayed in looks like it is due to be changed though. The...

Cute place to stay in SF. VERY close to the beach and several good breakfast joints close by. The MUNI runs right in front of the motel and it was very easy to just hop on and take it downtown to visit all of the main SF attractions. Even though our room was right by the street, the sound of...

Living on the west side of San Francisco I have referred a number of visitors to this little jewel. It has historic significance as the first motel built in San Francisco in 1936. An Art Deco gem, it has been meticulously maintained. While rooms are not enourmous they are comfortable and well appointed and one feels very much at home....

Was a good price for SF, however, was quite a distance from the wharf and downtown (near the zoo), even though there is a muni that leaves from outside the hotel. Rooms were more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. They were clean, but outdated. The rooms were fairly noisy. Check in was easy and efficient, although, there...

This place is just the best for a few days staying in San Francisco. The location is just a block away fro the beach, and the zoo... and several blocks from Golden Gate Park. Diners and bars are nearby, and the bus line is right across the street too. Clean rooms and very friendly staff make the place excellent for...

I wanted to take my Granddau ghter to San Francisco and up the coast of California. I was born in San Francisco and wanted her to see all she could. I searched on the internet and found this gem to stay at. Marc was so helpful in helping me get around the city on public transportation. It runs right in...

Excellent location, very convenient to public transportation, friendly and helpful staff. Our one complaint is that both nights we were there people in the room across the hall were very loud (it was two different sets of guests). There's not much soundproofing, so everythng that was said, we could hear; the way the stairwell is constructed with tile and concrete...

Our room was two queen beds and a bath, and we had requested a room away from the street side where the streetcar constantly goes. It was clean and sunny, but a bit small and I think it could have used a few more perks in the decorating, including fresh paint. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. And we...

I needed 3 queen beds in two spaces but not two rooms (divorced parents, one has beginnings of dementia and my pre-schooler and me). We absolutly enjoyed our stay! Here is why: 1. Marc is amazingly accomodating (did not meet his wife but she is probably as delightful as he is). I needed medical supplies delivered prior to our stay...
