It is my understanding that the State of California has legalized the use of marijuana and I, as a progressive thinker, am all for individuals pursuing the things in life which make them happy. However, my employer requires drug testing and any positive result will result in my employment with them being terminated. This hostel was filled with with the...

Thank you for your feedback about your visit with us. It is disheartening to hear that you discovered marijuana smoke in the building. We have a zero tolerance policy and take drug use within the hostel very seriously. I am concerned that the staff was unaware of this occurance as we would have ejected the smoker immediately after investigating the...

Checking in was easy, the room was cheap, although I had an 8 bed all female hostel and all of my roommates were asleep by 9pm, it was still very comfortable and cozy. They had a fireplace in the lounge with free books, free wifi, and the staff is so laid back and helpful. The next day I woke up...

7 of us stayed in a 10 bed dorm with no air con or fan. There was only 1 PowerPoint with a multi adapter in the room so you had to leave your stuff by that bunk. With the cost for the night it was the most overpriced place we stayed in the whole month we were in the USA....

Thank you for your review of the hostel! I apologize that you were not 100% satisfied with your stay. Hopefully you and your roommates were able to open the windows to get some air in your room as it is extremely rare in our city for there to be air conditioning or a fan in a building as old as...

This is a great hostel. I stayed in a private room which has one full sized bunk bed and one single. Not much else in the room except for a chair, small table and lockers (bring your own lock). But oh the view...it is fantastic! Could see the entire SF Bay including Alcatraz Island right from our window also could...

With 12 to a room and $50 per person per night, the hostel was a bit overpriced. But I guess you are paying for the location. It was easy to walk into the city, along the wharf, towards GG bridge. There was a good supermarket just 10mins walk away. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen facilities good, and the hostel...

Thank you for your review of the hostel! I appreciate that you took the time to leave us some honest feedback about your experience here. I apologize that you felt the cost of the dorm was too high for what you received. We want all of our guests to feel comfortable and safe while they are visiting, so I apologize...

Good option for a couple of nights to stay in San Francisco. Great location, free parking and really nice staff. Don't excpect too much from breakfast, enjoy the views and San Francisco and you would be satisfied!

Staying in San Francisco isn't cheap at all . We paid (as a couple ) over $100 per night for bunk beds in separate dorms but went for this hostel as it offers free parking (otherwise you'll pay approx $30 per 24 hours to park elsewhere ). Hostel is clean and has gorgeous views over the harbour and towards the...

It's difficult to review a place like this and hard to take on reviews from other people as everyone's looking at it from a different perspective! Firstly, it is so expensive to stay in San Francisco, so if you want somewhere on a budget you inevitably end up looking at hostels and we chose this one due to the good...

Thank you for your candid review of the hostel! I am sorry to learn that you did not enjoy yourself while visiting us. Hostels aren’t for everyone! I’d like to address your comment about our cleanliness. Just want you to know that the bathrooms are deep cleaned every day by our hardworking housekeeping staff and the front desk staff members...

Hi as far as hostels go this is very good. My only complaint is we had to get a 12 bed shared doom. But the beds are comphy. It's just noisy with people coming and going at all hours. And our window is on the ramp so you hear bags being dragged up and down at all hours. The hostel...

Thank you for your review of the hostel and for giving future guests some tips about how to get a good night's sleep! 10/10 for the price and location alone. You can pretty much anywhere you want to go, lots of restaurants around, staff are nice, place was clean, etc. Would stay there again the next time I'm in the area.

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
