Argonaut hotel was fantastic. Right in the middle of everything. Great views of the bay, 5 minute walk to Ghiradelli Square, Pier 39 and lots of good places to eat and shop. You will not be disappointed, trolley car around the corner maybe 2 minutes. The hotel is very very nice and the workers are awesome. Clean and comfortable.

The Argonaut is located right by the water and a few of the more fun piers. The lobby is warm and welcoming, furnished in modern nautical themes. They add a nice touch with their pet goldfish welcoming you at the front desk. They are also conveniently located by a Starbucks, Boudin, and an in-and-out burger. Check in was fine but...

In September 2012 we went to San Francisco for my wife's birthday. We booked the Argonaut Hotel- Kimpton in San Francisco, its a boutique hotel and I have to say location, location, location. It is in the Fisherman's Wharf area and it's close to everything just a short walk to everything. It kept us busy for the five days we...

Back in 2008 we stayed here on what we thought was a one of trip to San Francisco. We fell in love with the city and this hotel and this May we head back for our 5th visit, it's that good. This hotel has also got us hooked on Kimpton which is now our first choice for any trip to...

My husband and I chose the Argonaut to spend a week in San Francisco to celebrate our 20 yr. anniversary. I researched many other hotels first and we were very pleased with our final choice. Check-in was very quick as we were in our room within 10 minutes of arrival. The first thing we noticed was a nice bottle of...

I chose the hotel mainly for the price and the way the rooms are decorated. We were not going there to have dinner or use the spa, so I cant comment on those amenities. I can comment on how nice the staff is from the bell boys to the concierge. Very helpful with directions and tips on where to go....

Hello, Fran, and thanks for tipping your hat to our team and to the Wharf area. Yesterday, the ocean air wafted into the lobby and I tried to gulp deeply and remember how lucky we are to spend time in this part of the world!

My two sisters and I chose this hotel for a weekend getaway as it was on the Wharf with easy access to the touristy things we planned to do, including a tour to Muir Woods and one to Alcatraz. We stayed at the Argonaut during a cold, rainy weekend in December, 2012. The cab ride from SFO was $52 and...

Stayed 2 nights during a 14-day west coast whirlwind trip. Loved their late afternoon wine receptions each day as well as the convenience of their location. Our room was spacious and had everything we could need - it was very comfortable. The on-site restaurant was very nice to have.

Hi, Laurie, I'm glad you enjoyed the calm of the hotel in the storm of 14-days across California :). We try to make the rooms very comfortable with plenty of space (especially for such a prime city location), new pillowtop beds, Bigelow bath amenities, and a Forgot It, We've Got It program to provide you with any extra toiletry goodies...

I really don't understand the hype. Spent 2 nights at the Argonaut in January and found the hotel to be what can best be described as "an offbeat Marriott": pretty average all around: service, rooms, location, etc. As mentioned by other reviewers, the walls are THIN an I was awakened in the middle of the night by a neighbors dog...

Bubba, you had to bring out the "M-word"?! Just kidding. In all seriousness, all of our staff love working in a boutique setting and stand at the ready to show you a warmer experience and recommendations about the hidden nooks and crannies of the waterfront and all the nearby hotspots of North Beach, Russian Hill, Chinatown, the Marina, Cow Hollow,...

A* Hotel with a great location, friendly staff, attractively designed rooms but the wine tasting evenings are a must! The nature of the wine tasting evenings means you interact with other guests so much better making it a quality hotel but with the comfortable feel of a B&B. Only the valet car parking is really expensive at $50 plus per...

Hey, baggiemick! Hotel meets B&B -- I like it! I like to think that at the Argonaut, you can hole up and retreat if you want, or chat with the warm (and occasionally wacky) staff and guests if a living room party is more your style. Come back and see us to taste February's new wines or to drink hot...
