It has really old and smelly rooms. The pictures in the webpages like expedia, booking, etc are fake!
My bed sheath had couple of stains, probably not well washed. The bathtub and bathroom door were both broken. The entrance door of my room was so...More
We wanted to stay in SF with free parking and "Everything" were booked ( must have been some special event these days) so we had to pay ALOT more than it is worth. But it is not the hotels fault we booked only one day...More
A basic room was all I required and the Van Ness offered this for a reasonable price. I also stayed here two years ago. Breakfast of tea/coffee, yoghurt, pastries and fruit included. Close enough to the piers. Helpful staff.
I saw seemingly good reviews of this hotel here, so my wife and I tried it for our anniversary weekend. We were disappointed. It does have a decent location, near the Fishermans wharf area, a short walking distance. It is NOT a 3 star hotel....More
front desk are rude, i dont think they realize they're in the hospitality business, rooms are ok, stingy on bath towels (1) and you have to ask for an extra and they dont like it.

Also Known As
America`s Best Inn San Francisco Hotel San Francisco ,
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period
homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
Parking is free, but I'd say they only have about 15 spots. I got there early and it wasn't a problem, but it filled up fast. It's one of the last hotels in the Wharf area with free parking that I know of.
