It was meant to be. During the week of the Oracle convention in San Francisco, I was unable to find a room in any of my usual San Francisco haunts. Luckily, I found a room at this wonderful hotel, and I can recommend it without restraint. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was small but extremely comfortable.... More

The rooms are lovely, clean and the beds are comfy. Service is personal and attentive. The neighborhood has a good variety of small, delicious restaurants in walking distance. In fact you can walk easily to a number of bus or street car stops to get anywhere in the city. If you want a smaller hotel that caters to adults, you... More

This hotel reminds me of Europe. It's not big and glitzy. In fact you might look right past it if you were not looking for it specifically. But once you walk in you will be greeted my very helpful and welcoming staff. The restaurant and bar, where you will have breakfast in the morning, is very nice. Our room was... More

We were shopping around at the last minute for a hotel in San Fran; generally they looked over-priced and uninspiring. The Inn looked like the best for the price we wanted to pay, and it was. A nice old building right next to the Opera House and City Hall, with good transport links. The staff were really friendly and helpful... More

Thank you for your review of your recent stay at the Inn at the Opera. I did want to let you know that we are looking into replacing the chairs and tables in our room over the next year, and appreciate the feedback. I look forward to having you as our guestsagin in the future. Thank you! More

This is an exquisite little gem of a hotel. I have been coming here for the last five years. It is the perfect hotel to stay at for the opera season in San Francisco. It is literally across the street from the War Memorial Opera House. Just walk out the front door and you are a short walk to your... More

The staff provided very personalized service and were so helpful and friendly. The price included breakfast which was very tasty. We bought a city pass and were able to ride the... More

The Inn at the Oprah is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are clean and neat and all a person needs. The only detraction I have is the area where the the Inn is should be better advertised to the patrons so they know what is within walking distance. The service is 5 star and the restaurant is great.... More

We had a wonderful week in San Francisco and partly because of our stay at Inn at the Opera. It was charming and in a great location near city hall. We enjoyed walking in the immediate area enjoying a piece of San Francisco away from the busy Fisherman's Wharf area. We enjoyed having breakfast every morning at the hotel and... More

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
