Stayed in RM 24, 2 bedroom, 2 full bathrooms with shower/bath combo. After reading the reviews, glad we used more Shell points for a lrg suite, even though there were just the two of us. Cons: No heat, just two space heaters. Room was extremely cold when we arrived and took 2 days of our 4 day stay to warm...

Arrived after midnight. Despite informing hotel of my late arrival by care we were matter of factly told by reception there was no valet after midnight and we would have to park on street. One block away several cars had their windows broken in overnight. When we walked into our Opera Suit for $230/night we found an ice cold room,...

This is a vintage hotel property if that's what you are looking for. Standard rooms are small, we decided to spring for the Concerto suite (Room 73) which is a little larger and were glad we did. Average continental breakfast. Wait staff said they were getting an omelet station next week. We didn't go to Plaj but heard from other...

Pluses: very pleasant staff; excellent complimentary continental breakfast that includes hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, cottage cheese, the usual carbs (pastries, bagels etc.), juices, coffee and tea; much lower rates than the usual San Francisco hotels; great location for anything in the Civic Center (opera, symphony, ballet, any city business). Minuses: pretty shabby rooms; uncertain housekeeping (forgot towels, did not wash a...

Great little boutique hotel near the opera, ballet and symphony. We stayed for one week in a 1-bedroom suite. The room and 2 bathrooms are spacious. We had a little sitting (living room area with closed doors) with a sofa bed. The sitting room has its own bathroom and the bedroom master suite has a private bathroom as well. This...

Very welcoming place with elegant decor; cookies and tea/coffee in afternoons. We had nicely decorated mini-suite with small sitting room with 2 extra large chairs (which turn into twin beds), table and chairs, kitchenette with mini frig, microwave, sink, dishes and cutlery; TV. Separate small bedroom with queen bed, 2 bedside tables and lamps, ceiling light/fan, wardrobe with plenty of...

What a treasure find this boutique hotel is in the heart of civic center right next to the opera house! Friendly, welcoming, helpful, and certainly priced right for a City hotel! Step back in time and enjoy this Jewel of the City!!

This is a true step back in time! One elevator, with the window so you see the floors, and you have to open an exterior door! It is an older building, and they have kept it as true to the history, or as close as possible! Very cute, GREAT valet service, but you will have issues with all the things...

This Inn is at a convenient location for our needs. There are really no good hotels in the Hayes Valley, Civic Center area. It's clean, service is excellent and the continental buffet breakfast is a treat. The only improvement I would make would be in getting King sized beds for the rooms. They are on the small side. This is...

This is a very quiet hotel even though it is in the middle of the city. The rooms are very small ; but nicely laid out and clean. It is close to public transportation. It is within easy walking distance of symphony, opera, ballet and yummy restaurants.

Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
