We had a wonderful stay at the Pickwick hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was old but spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, very short walk to Union Square. Would stay here again.

We arrived here on Nov. 24th. For a stay through Nov. 29th. so far my husband has to wear his jacket while in the room because of cold. The hotel location it excellent, however it really needs updating.

Good rooms, shower good, great location for Powell st and public transport. Not classy but very functional and the staff are friendly. Could get better lifts and be a bit more accomodating on late check out, but all in all a good hotel that we'd come back to.

Always an issue when booking from U.K. To go to s City you do not know!! Pick wick did disappoint! The room was pleasant well decorated with comfortable bed. Coffee maker a bit of a mystery as it was a pod system that did not seem to work. However did use it to get mugs of hot water for tea...

The Pickwick was great. Central, easy to find, helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are small but have everything you need and are a comparable size to all older hotels in the union square area. I would definitely stay again.

In July of 2016, my family and I went to San Francisco. We stayed at the Pickwick. Uh Oh!! We arrived at the hotel, it was dark, old and wan in great need of work. The Pickwick is in 2 buildings which are connected. One of the buildings is over an abandoned firehouse, I think. As soon as we got...

The hotel was well situated about 5 minutes from the beginning of the tram up to Pier 39 and close to the theatre SGN where we were booked to see a show. No problem moving around at night alone. Very good for the price.we got the bus from the airport for 2 dollars 25 cent and it stops right out...

The room was nice, with two large single beds. The staff was pleasant but nothing more than that. The concierge was a bit annoying trying to sell us tours... worth the price. Good location, in the center, near lots of shops and restaurants.

The Hotel is a little antiquated but is clean and friendly. There is alot of old furniture and the rooms are really small. The restuarant is pleasant and the food is adequate. The Hotel is central to all amenities such as the cable and trolley cars

I read the reviews and despite the negative ones, I booked this hotel. The Good: Staff are very nice and helpful. Location can't be beat: close to restaurants, shops and transit. Free wifi. Safe, ironing board and iron located in the room. Soma bar and restaurant, located in the hotel, has good snacks and a great happy hour. Ample, good...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
