Great location, free parking, clean hotel. The owner have us a very nice welcome and checked us in within a few minutes. Rooms come with free WIFI which was great. Our room was very clean, large, with a comfortable bed. For the money, this was the best place ever in San Francisco and we would surely stay here again on... More

If you're on a budget, the Red Coach Motor Lodge has to be about the best deal in the city! Considering the prices for hotel rooms in San Francisco, it is an absolute bargain and only a 20 minute walk from Union Square. As others have said, the area east along Eddy St towards downtown is a bit sketchy with... More

Given the outrageous price of hotel rooms in SF, this place must be one of the best bargains around. Lots of other reviewers have drawn attention the sketchy area but I'll still add my voice to them. It's not pleasant after dark in particular and you will get approached for spare change, but that's true of all the world's great... More

I am visiting San Francisco as a tourist once a year since 1995. From this perspective I witnessed what is summarized as gentrification, and while Trip Advisor is not the place to discuss such a topic in general, there is an exemplary indicator affecting us travelers: While my budget doubled over the years the hotel rates tripled and quadrupled. Of... More

NEIGHBORHOOD: I did my research prior to arriving in San Francisco. As the room rates are outrageously expensive in some parts of the city, I decided to take a leap and book for a week at RCML, which is moderately affordable. Friends and the internet warned me about the Tenderloin, which has had a bad reputation for years. If you're... More

We stayed here for a transit night. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. Rooms are big and clean maybe a little outdated. Hotel is not located in the best area, if you walk there at night you will see a lot of homeless, addicts and drunk people. The streets are noisy during the night. This hotel in a different... More

Ignore all the bad reviews! Yes this is in a neighbourhood that has a lot of homeless people around, but they're harmless and as long as you stay away from a couple of blocks east to the hotel you'll be fine! No matter where you walk in San Fran there are homeless people. The hotel was clean, we had clean... More

We booked this hotel based on reviews from budget travellers. On arrival, the neighbourhood was threatening but the staff tried to put us at ease. Unfortunately, I felt that I was unable to stay in the area as I felt too uncomfortable. About 1/2 mile down the road and towards the wharf, the area becomes much more comfortable. If you... More

We stayed for one night and thank god it wasn't longer. The staff were not friendly, the room was outdated and smelled like my Nana's living room. The lamps even had some weird plastic coating on them like some old person's home. The shower was terrible, it was like someone spitting on you. The ice machine was two floors away... More
