Main floor under construction. Restaurant newly renovated but very limited dinner menu - in fact it was the lunch menu. Waiter was very attentive. Room was smaller than typical Marriotts but not uncommon in San Fran.

The new rooms are very nice. The lobby restaurant is under repair but the have a temporary one set up. We had a reservation screw up on one of our group which I don’t understand, but they fixed it. The big disappointment to me is the lounge, it is the least I have seen of any lou

Completely average hotel with no redeeming qualities. Despite the name it is not actually on Union Square. Maybe it would be serviceable for a business trip but read below if traveling to San Francisco in the near future:

Dear Mattilou, Thank you for choosing to stay with us on your recent visit to San Francisco. We apologize for the strike by hotel employees at the majority of Marriott Hotels in San Francisco. While the negotiation process was ongoing, many union members were engaged in strikes, rallies or other actions to express their views. Fortunately, a tentative agreement has been reached and standard services should resume shortly. We hope you will consider a stay with us on a future date. Thank you again for choosing Marriott. Oscar Rodriguez, General Manager

Even though the strike was in full swing during my stay the staff were very understanding and provided me with a room on the 'quieter' side of the building as I was on a layover after a very long flight. Services were reduced, but given the location so close to shops and restaur

Hi, I’ve read that there is a strike going on - is the strike still on? Will this disrupt my stay from 10 November 2018? Thanks

It might still be going on, but I would call the hotel and bring up those concerns. They might give you a discount or other amenity to make up for the disturbance

I am coming over 31 May until 4th of June is there any deals on booking now or should I wait closer to the date to book and get deals off a travel site . 1 room required for me and my wife.
I think you should wait a little before booking to see whether you can get a deal. Try booking a double queen room; they could upgrade you to a king room at no charge and you get a more spacious room, as they tend to need double queen rooms for weekends for weddings, etc. (that’s what happened in our situation).
