The hotel was extremely clean, the rooms large, the price right, the parking free, and the location was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. We walked everywhere or rode the trolly. We were so pleased, we booked it again for our last night in town after a trip to Napa. We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and...

The hotel was a bargain. It is in a great location. We walked to Fisherman's wharf, and may restaurants and cafes in North Beach. The price is good and it has free parking. That is important. It is hard to find parking in the area sometimes. The room was standard. We were first in a room with no view. Our...

We chose the Columbus based on Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. We arrived hours before checkin and found that our room was available and we were able to head up straight away. What a bonus. The rooms were a good size and they had honoured our request for a room away from the main road. We stayed on...

Stayed here for Saturday and Sunday in January 2011. Good price for a big clean room with big flat screen TV, big bath room, closet with in-safe (can hold a laptop), coffee maker (with Wolf Gang Puck coffee, pretty good) and free parking. Inside of room/bathroom seemed more updated than the exterior of the place. Only I wish there were...

We have a 20 year history staying at the Columbus Inn. It remains a great choice. On this occasion we discovered yet another reason to stay there---a Trader Joe's is now just 3 blocks away at Bay St. and Mason. We bought brie, pate, bread and wine for the room, and even picked up sandwich wraps to take to the...

This motor inn is located about 3 city blocks from Fisherman's Warf and about 5 blocks from the Embarcadero. You are in North Beach and walking distance from China Town and all city transportation. The hotel itself is small and clean. It is old and not updated, but the beds were still good and the room was well cleaned daily....

First time staying here. Rooms were clean and roomy. Furniture was a bit outdated but functional. Bed was comfortable but we have slept in better. We had a room on the 3rd floor (top floor in building) facing Columbus Ave. and it can be a little noisy traffic wise however it did not bother us too much. The traffic quiets...

Had 3 nights in San Fran as a part of a larger road trip with a rental car so we were looking for a good value, comfortable hotel in a great location with undercover parking. A bit of research on Trip Advisor suggestged that Columbus Motor Inn would fit the bill and it did so perfectly. It is not the...

This is a great hotel in terms of the distance to tourist spots around. Fisherman's Wharf is only 15 minutes walk away. So its Pier 33 where you would take the Alcatraz tour. Municipal Bus service is half a block away. The rooms are large, really! Clean but deco a little outdated but I am not complaining. Flat screen TV,...

We chose this hotel for the location and free parking. Because of the price we didn't expect much. What a surprise! It was clean, great location, wonderful staff. The room wasn't huge, but not small either, fine for the four of us. Not a big lobby, but who hangs out in the lobby! It was far beyond our expectations. We...

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
