Great hotel with a fun and funky vibe. Pool was well heated and there were fun toys to play with, colorful decor, and very welcoming environment. The breakfast offerings were decent and staff was very friendly. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. We will be back on our next trip the The City!

We booked the largest room/suite for our family of 5. King bed, queen pull out sofa, and cot in a huge room with a kitchenette were great. Small bathroom. There is a small pool - heated and the kids loved it. Great and easy breakfast of bagels and pastries. We loved the location as it was a bit off the...

Awesome find for a last minute trip through the city. Found on hotel tonight, but booked with the rate matched directly over the phone. Eedrick (sorry if i misspelled that) checked us in and out, super easy and quick. Very welcoming. The light snack with coffee and OJ in the morning was just enough to get us up and enjoy...

This is an old property (like most places in the area) that's been redone with children in mind. The staff are friendly and seem to enjoy having young people around, The decor is "happy" and is suitable for families. We went with our son and grandkids and was able to get adjoining rooms - a real fun treat for everyone....

They tried but just not quite hard enough I guess. Obviously they put a bit of effort into the decor, but the three distinctly different hairs in the sink that were not mine pretty much grossed me out. The hair was probably still there because the maid couldn't fit into the world's smallest bathroom. Seriously, the room was massive, and...

We wanted to stay in a smaller hotel somewhere in San Francisco that was in a quieter area but still within walking distance of the tourist spots. Hotel del Sol was perfect for this. We were about 30 minutes walk from Fisherman's Wharf which was fine for us as we like to walk/explore and it only rained on one day....

Hotel del Sol is great - clean, bright, convenient, friendly staff, parking, pool, safe and so close to everything. We stay here for every visit to SF! Breakfast in the morning and warm cookies in the evening.

My wife and I always enjoy staying here whenever we attend events in the Marina District. The staff are attentive, professional and know the area very well. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nice decorated in the classic Joie de Vivre style for the individual hotel. This one is a 50's style classic motor hotel with modern in room amenities....

We stayed here for 2 nights in April 2016. This hotel stylish and kitsch, modern and retro at the same time. Situated near the Cow Hollow area, and only a short walk from the Marina District and down to Fisherman's Wharf. We booked a double room but were upgraded to a suite. Clean and spacious bedroom with a large comfy...

We were upgraded to a junior suite on the third floor when we stayed here Feb. 6-7th. We wanted to stay near the Magic Theater and explore an area of San Francisco we had never visited. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was vintage 50's, as was the theme of the hotel. Bed and room were very comfortable....

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.

Designed to celebrate California's lively culture, the Hotel Del Sol is a cheerful explosion of the West Coast spirit. Once a 50s-style motor lodge, it has been newly transformed to offer the stylings and personalized service of a boutique hotel.
