Although the accommodation is reasonable, the location leaves much to be desired. We didn't feel safe walking in the immediate area with the multitude of street people and seemingly unsavoury elements. It would be unfortunate if this was your only experience and exposure to such a wonderful city.

Dear David T, Thank you very much for staying with us and for taking the time to share the details of your stay. We are happy you enjoyed your room, but we are also saddened that you didn't feel safe walking outside of the hotel. The Soma neighborhood like most of San Francisco is in a large urban metropolis filled...

We stayed at Americania for 4 nights while touring San Francisco. Great location, great staff, super clean, very comfortable and reasonably priced. The facilities are pretty good as well. The biggest problem is the noise. Walls and floors are thin and you can hear everything that goes on below, above and outside. Going in November made it less likely for...

We arrived at the hotel at 3:30 on November 8th and the hotel lobby was very full and busy. At check in I presented a travel card to the desk clerk and it was requested to email it to the front desk and they would apply it to our stay. After check in we decided to drop off our bags...

First of, please read all the amenities as you have to pay for parking. Since our trip was out of the blue, we didn't know any better. The room was very clean, the staff was really great, but the area sucked. The parking sucked! I figured you end up paying close to $400 a night, the least you could include...

Hotel is nice, very clean and stylist. We spent 7 days here. While there the staff was responsive and helpful. I would recommend the hotel for those wanting good value and great location. Parking for our rental car was convenient too.

Dear Tony P. Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We’re pleased to know that you found our facilities to be comfortable and our staff friendly. We work hard to provide excellent service therefore, it’s delightful to hear about it when we succeed. Our neighborhood is also undergoing a huge amount of change right now. We are...

Hotel was fine, my only problem is the area. You have to walk several blocks past some seedy denizens of the street, and harmless street crazies. Stay away from the x-rated 6th Ave. Go straight up to Market Street(One Block) before heading into the finer areas of S.F.. Well worth the price if you don't mind walking through the above...

We stayed for our trip to San Fransico. The location was a 10 min trolly trip away from pier 33 for the Alcatraz tour. Everything in the hotel was great, Internet, service, room, cleaniness, and atmosphere. The only problems was the parking. There was a $30 parking fee for hotel guests, and the breakfast has to be included in the...

My husband and I were very please with the value for money ratio at the BW Ameriania. The hotel is a 10 minutes walk from Union Square (centrally located). the decor was funky and it was, for the most part, clean (the carpet could have used a clean up). We certainly recommend this hotel.

We've had a great stay at this hotel. Staff could not be more helpful or friendly, the rooms are spotless, the beds are comfy. We did find the decor a bit unusual, but it's great fun. Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
