The hotel was much better than we expected. The location is excellent, in an area full of restaurants and shops. The room was quite nice, large, and looked like it was recently refurbished. Nicely decorated, and everything exceptionally clean and crisp. Large tv, crisp linens....More

The taste of a pleasant and enjoyable hotel remains live in one's memory long after his/her departure, and this is my case with Chelsea Motor Inn, San Francisco.

Clean, spacious room, courteous staff, terrific location on Lombard St. With hotel prices in SF at an all-time high, even off-season, this establishment is reasonably priced and offers a perfect base for a stay in this wonderful city.

Thank you very much for your excellent review. We are glad to know you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the location in the marina District.
We hope to see you soon again in the near future.
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.
With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.

Each guest is allowed to park one car per room and we guarantee you can park on our private parking lot. All our guest cars will never park on the street. We do not guarantee a parking space and is on first come first serve. In case all the parking spaces are taken, you will need to double park the car and leave the keys at the front desk upon check in and it will be moved when there is a parking space available which only happens when all our guests comes with a car.
However, we strongly recommend not to come with a car to San Francisco because of heavy congestion and very expensive parking fees in the city. It is highly recommended to rent a car upon departure instead of parking your car during your stay.
San Francisco offers public transportation, well organized bus system, Uber/Lyft and taxi. Also many places are within walking distance from the hotel. There are a few buses going to the main tourist attractions and only a block away from Chelsea.
Many restaurants and boutique shops are within also within walking distance.
