Location perfect, great restaurants walking distance. Clean, friendly staff. Hotel is a little older, which is ok with us was very clean. Here is the issue, when we arrived they asked if i received an email, no email ( I also spike with other motel guest, they never received an email) their elevator was out. On the second floor, ok 40 some stairs. I was with my 74 year old mother who just had back surgery with emphysema, and me. We cant do that, spending 2 nights, we were told well then we won’t honor your reservation, seriously its Saturday in San Francisco where would you like me to go?? Stay calm… They said they had a room available on the first floor about 22 steps, OK but you find someone to bring up our luggage. They did, now thinking why did tip the guy but I did. When we left we were exhausted and had our suitcase now to bring down we asked a fellow motel guest if he could carry out bags down and he did. They said the elevator will not be fixed until June. So the elevator was my only negative on this motel. Location great Staff ok Clean great…
My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. The room, office and parking area were spotlessly clean. The location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. I'd happily stay here again.
We have been staying in this hotel for 8 years (twice a year / 1 week each time). It is a convenient location for us and the staff, up until today, has always been friendly and helpful. We even came and stayed here during lockdown and pandemic when hotel had very few customers. This time when we checked in the air conditioner didn’t work right. We called receptionist and it looked liked he fixed the problem. Three days later we came to realization that the air conditioner still was not working correctly. Even thought it was set to cool down at 72 F, the temperature in the room got up to 78 F. The air coming out of AC was cool, but apparently not cold enough to cool the room. A man who identified himself as the manager of the hotel came to our room supposedly to fix the problem. The first thing he did was closed the curtains. He said it was very sunny outside and that is why it is hot inside our room. Really?! Does the manager really expect us to live without natural sunshine like we were in a Ukrainian bomb shelter? Then the manager said there is no problem with the air conditioner - the air coming out is cool. Every time we tried to explain what happens he would not listen and interrupted us. Every single time.! Then he came with the best solution for the hospitality business - “if you don’t like it move out of this hotel!” Not to mention that it was said with anger and hate. We were just stunned! We never experienced such treatment in any hotel. The manager went downstairs then called us and said he was shortening our stay in the hotel. We had to leave the next day. This was despite the fact that our 8 night stay had been fully prepaid. Since we had paid, we ignored the managers instructions. The day before our scheduled check out, a receptionist came to our room and said we were late in leaving the hotel. We showed him our prepaid reservation. It turned out the manager gave the front desk instructions to throw us out of the hotel. The hotel did not even offer to refund the remaining money we paid. And, like cowards always do, the manager was afraid to do it by himself, so he delegated it to somebody else. To say that his behavior was unacceptable is a massive understatement. There are many hotels in San Francisco in this price range. Our advice - do not stay in Coventry Inn. Managers who have such contempt for their customers deserve empty hotels.…
Clean, safe, handicap access/room, elevator, secure parking. Great location and staff. Affordable. This place is a jewel. I am a fourth generation San Franciscan but live out of state. This place is our go to when we are in The City.
We stayed 3 nights. It was very quiet. Room is good for 2 people, but still small. Furniture is old, but clean and functional. No fridge or microwave, but each floor has ice and vending machines. No view. Parking was a big plus. Felt safe as you need a key to get onto elevator. Employees were professional, but not at all friendly. No breakfast, but the area is great for finding food. We walked everywhere. Bed was comfortable. For the price, cleanliness, parking and location, we enjoyed it. Just needs a few more minor amenities.
Hard to believe the room is really what people claim for the price, but it is! Super clean, nice staff, amazing bed. A couple of tips. We went to the tiny market across the street & bought a $10 styrofoam chest for cold items & leftovers from dinners out. The 28 bus goes up Lombard, take it to North Point & Van Ness, switch to the 30 Stockton that goes right through ALL the tourist areas up to Market St & Westfield Mall. Then take the 30 Presidio in reverse. $5 a day and not sketchy at all. Jake's Steaks is a half a block up Buchanan, yum! Wonderful city, never enough time to do everything we want.
We chose Coventry Motor Inn because my husband had previously stayed there on a business trip and the free parking on site was the big plus for us. We were expecting the tired furniture in the rooms but the curtains were ripped and the wallpaper on the wall had cuts on it. It's the little details that make or break a good impression. Other than that the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Due to covid you need to request if you want your room cleaned the following day which worked well for us. Location is good and the parking is very convenient.
The room was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. Location is in an older section with many restaurants within walking distance. Free parking is a huge plus. Excellent service from front desk staff, Tony. Would definitely stay here again.
We had booked a stay here as part of our honeymoon. We had stopped before and location etc was great. However when the pandemic hit and we asked for a refund as America were not allowing foreign visitors they point blank wouldn't refund. I appreciate they gave a no refund policy however given the global Pandemic and the fact every other hotel we booked across America gave an automatic refund regardless of policy this was very poor. I will never look to stop with you again due to poor play and I will never recommend you to friends and family going to San Francisco again something which I had done prior to this. So not only have you lost our custom but that of anyone we know who regularly come to us for recommendations following multiple road trips in America
Old but very well managed property. Great location with free parking. Clean. Professional and courteous staff. Of all the hotels we've visited for work and leisure in San Francisco, this was the best value and we highly recommend it to everyone.
