Overall we were very satisfied with our stay. We had been at this hotel several years ago. It is still nice although in need of refurbishments in some areas (mainly room corridors and entrance lounge). The Concierge is excellent, may be the best service of the hotel. Also the reception people do a very good job; upon arrival we had...

Thanks to Priceline, I was able to secure a room at this beautiful hotel at an affordable price. The front desk was very welcoming, and the room was spacious for three of us. Parking is expensive at the hotel, so I found a lot 1/2 block away for $20 less a day. Only negative - they charge for internet service.

I was here for a meeting at the Marriott Marquis--but because of my Ambassador status decided to stay at the Mark Hopkins. With most hotels providing upgrades, the Mark Hopkins did not disappoint. The rooms are sizable (larger than most rooms in SF), and I was given a suite plus access to the club level. It's a tough walk to...

Stayed there for two nights. Great view if you can have a higher floor room and facing down the hill. We only got a room facing the street. Old hotel rooms but well maintained and very clean. Service is extremely good. The view from the top of the mark is gorgeous. Location is up the hill... which means that you...

Stayed there one night over Memorial Day weekend. Room was very nice. The view was amazing! Only complaints were the small beds and slow elevators. And that hill! Bring some comfy shoes if you plan on walking. Overall, would recommend if you like the Nob Hill area.

The Nob Hill location is excellent and the view was good even on the 5th floor. Everything was first class in this hotel. Concierge was a great help with everything. A classic hotel redone in the finest form.

My husband and I stayed here both before and after a cruise in May. The whole holiday was a 50th birthday present for me and the Mark Hopkins certainly contributed to making it really special for both of us. We were upgraded on both occasions without any fuss and both rooms were stunning, both with views of the Golden Gate...

We stayed at the Deluxe Terrace Suite in Mark Hopkins. Huge space and beautiful decor. We even invited friends to the suite for tea. The view was fabulous. We could see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and a large part of the city. Breakfast at Top of the Mark was excellent. A classic hotel.

Exceptional location in the flashy Nob Hill. Situated at the top of the hill so be prepared to walk up hill or use a $6US cable car each trip. buffet breakfast at the Top Of the Mark restaurant was very nice. Very classy hotel. Hotel was very clean and very comfortable.

Checked in and was very pleased with the service by the front desk personnel as well as the gentleman who brought out bags to our room. Room was very well appointed, bathroom was roomy and nicely updated, bed linens were very soft and comfortable, and the view was very pretty. The concierge was extremely helpful and I couldn't have been...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
