The Palace Hotel has a long history of providing quality service, 1875 to be exact, and it was a pleasure to see the hotel with all it's charm had staff to compliment this jewel of a hotel. Staff was amazing, but I have to mention Teresa the front desk manager personally because she made our anniversary actually feel special. Debbie... More

The hotel was very inviting from the pulling up to the hotel, Valet, check in, and bell service was excellent, attentive, and very helpful. We did not expect to check in till 3:00pm and... More

Let's start with the lobby and atrium. It's straight out of a bygone era. If you have seen the final seen in the game where Michael Douglas crashes through glass ceiling. Well that majestic room is this hotels lobby. As one of the few survivors of san Francisco's historical tragedies that burned or tore buildings down it remains as a... More

Very impressed with the lobby and the concierge desk which was fabulous. Concierege was one of the best I have had for arranging reservations and activities. Unfortunately one side of the hotel borders an alley where drug addicts are using all night long and playing music. Only slept for 3 hours of the night. Worse than a motel 6. Hotel... More

Stayed 3 nights for a company conference. There is nothing more that I can ask for. Excellent location, good restaurants within walking distance, near to piers for morning run, next to subway, walking distance to union square. Customer service is excellent, staffs are friendly and courteous. This is a hotel that I will highly recommend for anyone looking for good... More

There are some places you stay that just make you feel important...this is one of those places. We loved staying at this hotel. There is an air of old fashioned sophistication and class. When we checked in, we were greeted with chocolates and a bottle of water. The foyer with the domed roof is spectacular and relaxing. Our room was... More

Right in the heart of the city, this Grand Dame is awesome. First class customer service, warm and friendly staff! We really enjoyed this hotel, and will be back! Our daughter lives in the city, and even she wanted to stay over. We had a family next to us that was sort of loud, and they moved us no questions... More

For most of the past 10 years we've enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday with our children, family friends, and their children. We find that the Palace is one of the best kept secrets in the city. You can walk to Union Square, the movies, the convention center, ATT park and many fine restaurants from the Palace. The rooms are nice, the... More

Loved staying in this historic building. The architecture is stunning. Our room was cozy, and the bed super comfy. The decor us calming and peaceful, with a wonderful nostalgic feeling. Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
