We were delighted with the service at Kabuki, and especially with the great value received in a city known for very expensive room rates. Our room was spotless, very large and very comfortable. Similar hotels were quoting much higher rates. The location was excellent, and the staff were very helpful.

I'm 3 nights into a 5 night stay; I think this is a very good property taking into account the comments in other reviews. The public spaces are very nice, amenities that I care most about are fine (decent coffee easily available in the AM, basic breakfast food, bar, laundry), and the rooms are comfortable. I have found the service to be very responsive. I agree with reviewers noting that this isn't really a 4 star hotel from an amenity perspective, but it compares well to most 3 star properties. The area around the hotel feels safe and has tons of food options, compensating for the lack of options in the hotel. But there is one big caveat: the HVAC in the main building is old and primitive. I arrived late at night to a room that was at least 80 degrees, with no A/C available because the entire building was in "heat" mode (it can only do heat or A/C at any one time). They were able to move me to the Garden Wing, which has more modern HVAC, but I would have checked out immediately if they hadn't been able to move. If you care about the temperature in your room, I'd strongly advise that you request a room in the Garden Wing. Overall I was happy and would definitely return, as long as I could get a room in the Garden Wing.

We have stayed many times at the Kabuki because of its proximity to our grandchildren, and the neighborhood is lovely. Overall the service is very good, the rooms are clean and bed comfy. The lobby is lovely. However, the set up of the bathrooms in the rooms is very awkward. No door between sink, shower and bedroom. There is a door to the toilet, but only one light switch so a mid-night visit means that anyone else in the bedroom get a full on light in their eyes. Even a separate light in the toilet room would be a help.

Dear kathleenmusante, Thank you for your feedback and I am glad you liked the service and enjoyed the neighborhood during your stay. We are currently operating with a limited range of services, as well as fewer rooms in circulation. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to operate amidst certain limitations, and we hope you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back once things are back to normal. We do look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Stay safe! JOYCE YUN DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS HOTEL KABUKI | JDV BY HYATT

Room very clean, staff super friendly and everyone wore masks - even above their nose - very COVID compliant. We self-parked accidentally in the valet, but they were totally okay with that, and wound up comping the parking as a friendly gesture. The coffee bar is automatic and was delicious. Will stay here again.
