The Parker Guest House is located a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of the Castro adjacent to Dolores Park. The hotel consists of two period houses linked by a pleasant garden. All public areas are well furnished, clean and attractive. Our room appeared newly refurbished and was to a very good standard. The tram runs along Church Street and...

The ambiance in this guest house is just perfect. There is a lovely breakfast room that overlooks the garden, with views of the surrounding hills. Scott was a gracious host with helpful recommendations. The breakfast was good with fresh fruit, and some healthful choices. The baby grand in the living room could have used some maintenance, but after a couple...

I cannot say how pleased we were with our stay. Personable service throughout our stay. Scott was extremely pleasant & helpful. Very cute guesthouse in an old building. We stayed in room 24. The room was large & clean with a very comfortable bed. Great location wedged between the Mission & Castro near Delores Park. Easily accessible to Muni (the...

We had looked at hotels in downtown, but wanted to stay somewhere that had a more personal feel. We found it! Every review about The Parker Guesthouse was positive and we totally agree. Proximity to the major tram routes was an unexpected bonus (two blocks); their rumble along Church Street is comforting, not annoying at all and we were able...

We were made to feel welcome from the first moment. The whole ambience of this guest house is just wonderful. The location for exploring the city is perfect and you're just around the corner from the Castro and all the fun to be had there. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast is great and sets you up for...

We enjoyed our stay in the Parker Guest House very much. Feeling at home, incredible level of service, beautiful garden for sunny days and cosy living room for cold evenings. Social wine at aperitif hours was a great time to meet other guests. Very good breakfast ! We will be back !

We found a good deal on Booking.com for this place which came highly recommended for its location and the expansive grounds. However, I wasn't impressed with the value for the money we paid. Our booking for a deluxe double room turned out to be a standard queen room which was barely large enough for our luggage. As there are no...

We loved every aspect of our stay. The warm, friendly, home like and comfortable atmosphere was great to wake up to and come home to each of the four nights we spent there. The proprietors clearly take pride in providing an excellent experience. The breakfasts were delicious, the rooms had character, and the common living rooms, dining areas, and garden...

Easy to get everywhere in SF from here, Uber shows up in <1min every time. Hosts were great..many good restaurant suggestions nearby. Good simple breakfasts. Oatmeal with fresh fruit was great. Happy hour every afternoon starting at 5:30pm. Wine and snacks and you will meet some nice people hanging out. Very comfortable and inviting.

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
