I stayed here on the recommendation of friends. What I liked was you could choose your price point based on amenity (bathroom) level. I went with my own private hallway bath. Was not inconvenienced at all. Spacious and we'll appointed all around. My only complaint is down comforter was too hot. Sad, that that is,all lol I was in room...

A lovely home away from home for our 4 days in San Fran. Conveniently located to public transport, Dolores Park, 10 min walk to the Castro & many restaurants nearby. The guesthouse is first class, so homely & tastefully decorated. The breakfasts included a great selection of food. The room was always tidy & felt like home with a fantastic...

This B & B was impeccably clean, with wonderful service and an amazing breakfast. The hosts made us feel so comfortable and were so gracious--allowing guests to snack on kitchen food after hours, allowing my friend to park her car at the B& B for free, and providing wine and cheese in the evenings, for example. It was a one-of-a-kind...

The Parker House was in a great location for exploring the Castro area and had easy access to other public transportation. Had a King Suite which was nice, however the bathroom was disappointing as it only had a tub with shower and I thought I would get a nice walk in shower. The breakfast selections were ok except the pastries...

Lovely staff and service. Wine at 5:30 p.m. was a nice touch. The brandy and fireplace in the living room was welcoming. The breakfast area is cheerful and bright. Lots of breakfast choices available. The location is great. Lyft is a wonderful way to get around the city if you don't have a car. The wait was two minutes each...

The Parker Guest House is in a good location for the area. Convenient to lots of interesting places and public transportation. The House is welcoming, warm, fun. The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. Everyone was cheerful and interested in seeing that we enjoyed our time. Nice to have a fireplace in the living room with brandy. Breakfast is...

The Parker Guest House had everything I wanted. It was quiet, comfortable with a nice breakfast. The staff was very attentive and willing to help advise me about restaurants and exclusions. When I arrived, I had been on a train for two days and had hardly slept. I was never so glad to see a bed in my life! The...

My wife and I nearly always stay at the Parker House during our visits to San Francisco to see our grandchildren. The rooms are lovely. Everything is spic and span. The breakfasts feature eggs, oatmeal and lovely pastries. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Had a great time at the Parker on our first trip to SF. The location is great for the bars in the Castro (which we more than took advantage of) and it's well located for transport to get downtown. The staff are so friendly and helpful, from initial enquiry through to checkout, and made it feel like a home away...

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
