As the name suggests Beck's is a motel type, 3 floors with doors opening onto a balcony. The hotel is located at the Castro end of Market St with handy public transport links, buses and the F Line trams run past the building and the Muni Subway stop at Church is just down the road. Car Parking is free if...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 24 August 2016

First of all, the location is fantastic! There's an F-train stop right across the street that can get you to pretty much anywhere and it's within walking distance to the Castro district which is filled with nice shops and places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean and looked to be recently renovated. It was quite spacious (we got...

I am currently living in this hotel now. Unfortunately the heater is broken and it is like 64 F/ 17 C inside the room I am staying. When I called the receptionist, he told me that it is a know issue and they couldn't fix it now. The only thing they can do is to provide a small portable heater...

We really enjoyed our stay in Becks Motor Lodge! Very spacious, clean and comfortable room, with everything we needed to have a memorable stay. Perfect location in a very nice suburb, close to restaurants, bars, shops and metro stations. Also friendly staff. Totally recommend it! The only bad point was the noise of the street car, right in front of...

Our stay at Becks was fantastic!! SueEllen at the front desk was delightful, knowledgeable, and accommodating when we had a slight concern with the noise level of our room. These rooms are CLEAN, comfortable, fairly spacious, and with good accommodations. Free coffee at Sweet Temptations across the street, or free in room coffee as well, walking distance to a lot...

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.... plus service, comfort and cost - Beck's serves it up in spades. We attended Noir City Film Fest at the Castro - we were able to easily walk there and to some of the very best restaurants in the city within 3 blocks. Super CLEAN - superb housekeeping team, very helpful. The rooms are recently renovated and...

Beck's was a nice accommodation. The rooms were generous and the free off street parking was a nice surprise. It is convenient to the sites and landmarks of central San Francisco. Everything is a short BART or trolley ride away. Lots of local eateries and convenient shopping for travelers who may have forgotten something.

There is a reason this place is so high up on the tripadvisor list and the main reason is the incredibly genuine and friendly staff. Throughout my stay everyone did their best to assist and answer all questions. The rooms were VERY clean and comfortanble with smart furnishings. I loved sitting on the sundeck mixing with other guests and watching...

This hotel was extremely clean and very cozy, the modern decor helps you to feel right at home. There is some stairs and a patio so you can get a great view of the city. Also, across the street there is a small coffee shop in which we enjoyed bagels and coffee almost every day, we were able to walk...

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
