Since our honeymoon 35 years ago, we have been going to Hinckley's, and not once have we ever had anything but impeccable service and care. The owners, Jon and Vangie Stewart have run Hinckley's for over 25 years, and are the best at accommodating your needs and desire nothing from you but to have an excellent vacation experience. If you...

We had cabin #1. VERY clean.. perfect for the wife and I. Four people maybe a little tight. I read a few reviews people saying it smelt musty, it's a cabin in the woods I hope I get a little woods smell. The only negatives about our cabin close to the main road little traffic noise but not bad.. No...

Loved Hinckleys. It was very cozy with everything we needed. The owners were great and very helpful, since my husband and I had never been to Maine before. The other staff was great too. We stayed in cottage 19 and the king size bed was awesome. It was close to everything, but far enough away from the crowds in Bar...

We stayed at Hinckley'a for two weeks and had such a wonderful time . Yes, it is very rustic, but clean and comfy and met all of our needs. Jonathan, the owner and his wife were sweet and friendly and Shawna who took care of our cottage made sure our stay was very comfortable, and supplied us with whatever we...

They provided the worst customer service. Owners were most unfriendly -they know you are the travelers/visitors and they do not care for a bit. No greetings, no smiles, no nothing. Tried to use their bathroom at check-in after a 3-hour trip -they told us, "your cottage will be ready in 2 minutes", basically saying just go there and use the...

We stayed at Hinckley's for 5 days a few weeks ago. The staff - on the phone, check in and housekeeping were all very friendly and helpful. We stayed in cabin 20, As other reviewers had mentioned, the only downfall was the dirty carpet (probably caused by someone using the fireplace and not opening the damper) and the low water...

We had cabin #18 for five nights. The location was conveniently located only a few minutes from town. Even better, we could leave our car behind and hop the Island Explorer bus for free to any location on the island. My son enjoyed the heated pool. Hinckley's is a great value especially for the area. I would recommend that you...

We had a wonderful time in Cabin #20! Everything was clean and cozy - the bed was super comfortable and we loved the fireplace - made a fire every night! Location was perfect - less than 10 minutes into Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. My sense is that people with complaints with Hinckleys are expecting something that in the Acadia...

Great individual cabins! Some are more updated than others, but all are great for an awesome vacation in bar harbor! The cabins are small, but in a quaint New England way. They have everything you might need and then some. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating! I will be back! :)

Elegantly remodeled family cottages or rustic/quaint cabins? I choose rustic/quaint for the price and location and have been going to Hinckley’s for several years! I always look forward to my return to the cabin I can call “mine” for several days! I kept cabin 8 for my first few years: screened porch, large great room that holds bed with closet...
