We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were outstanding. Ann gave good advice on things to do, places to have dinner. The location was excellent, a half mile from the downtown bustle of Bar Harbor. Access to the pool at the neighboring hotel was a plus. My only hesitation was the housekeeping which could have been more thorough.

We truly enjoyed our two night stay in the Cleftstone Manor. We stayed in the Cleftstone Room which was absolutely beautiful, with four large windows, a four-poster bed, a fireplace, sofa and upholstered chairs and wonderful high ceilings with wood beams. It was quiet and looked out to a lovely garden. The entire manor was beautiful with a large sunroom...

We had just been to Quebec for our anniversary and then spent 4 days in Bar Harbor at Cleftstone Manor. Imagine our surprise to find out that the Hotel Frontenac Architect was also the architect for the Manor ! We had just had a glorious 29th Anniversary Dinner at the famous hotel and found the breakfasts here at the Inn...

Room was nice until it rained - then the closet leaked and soaked my hanging clothes and my suitcase. When I tooked the wet clothes out to the owner, all she said was "You're in Kebo Valley", which was the room's name. - no apology but acknowledgement that she KNEW there was a leak - this was confirmed later when...

I just spent an enjoyable weekend in Bar Harbor Maine. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and stayed at the Cleftstone Manor five years ago; having such a wonderful experience, we were determined to return on our 5 year anniversary, especially keen on staying at the Cleftstone Manor, despite it having changed owners. My husband’s first encounter...

I have no idea what the previous reviewer is talking about, our stay at Cleftstone was perfect. The rooms are charming, perfectly decorated and immaculate. The style of decor fits the age of the home perfectly, you could spend a day browsing through all of the rooms in the inn. Breakfasts were amazing, served on time and absolutely delicious!! Ann,...

If you are planning on staying at the Cleftstone Manor I would recommend you look elsewhere. The b&b's reviews promise a romantic and cozy accommodation close to downtown Bar Harbor. My first impression of the Cleftstone was not the best. The public areas of the b&b are decorated to an inch of its life... I think if someone put just...

My husband had been here before. He is handicapped. They were very helpful and thoughtful about our needs. They made a special effort to get food he could eat when he was sick one day. They put up a delicious bag breakfast for our whale watch (which was fantastic) Breakfast every day was spectacular as were the hors d'oeuvres. I...

Cleftstone Manor seemed to us to be more of a small hotel than a Bed and Breakfast. Of course, there was the breakfast. . .and it was great! We stayed for two nights and had juice, yogurt with fruit, excellent baked goods and a choice of two different entrees each morning. These delicious breakfasts were served in a cheerful, bright...
