Courtyard Oahu is not up to Bonvoy Standards with staff. We spent a week at waikiki marriot where the staff was friendly, welcoming and always ready to help. Right from walking in the door the front desk staff did not welcome us, thank us for our Gold Elite Status or seem to care that we chose to stay here when there are many other options. We were just told - check in is at 4pm. We will let you know when the room is ready. We were not given an upgrade or made to feel "special" in any way. The staff in general seem unhappy, pool deck, coffee shop and front desk. No Aloha, or good morning, no have a nice day. Housekeeping was the only person who was giving the vibe that they were here to give us a pleasant experience. We travel a lot and this hotel really stood out as unwelcoming.
Room was fine, bed comfortable and lots of nice seating area. We can not recommend Courtyard North Shore based strictly on the staff. We had lunch at Turtle Bay, an updated Marriot Ritz Carlton on the North Shore where we received many Alohas, happy staff, excellent food and friendly service all over the resort. Stay there or rent a condo. On vacation the staff and experience and reviews by customers make a huge difference in choosing where to stay. It feels like there is an "issue" here at Courtyard either in lack of customer service training for staff or management/staff problems .

Aloha lauriebK2140ZB, Mahalo for sharing your experience. It’s disappointing to hear that the level of service did not meet expectations, as providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere is always a priority. Your feedback is truly appreciated, and we regret that this visit did not reflect the hospitality you anticipated. It’s reassuring to know that housekeeping made a positive impression, and we will certainly take your comments into consideration. Guest experiences shape our commitment to improvement, and we hope for the opportunity to provide a more memorable stay in the future. Leilani - Guest Service

I would recommend the hotel if folks are visiting the north shore for a few days and can visit the Polynesian Cultural Center, conveniently located next door, more than once during their stay since it's hard to see all of the PPC in just one day. It's also located right across from a beach. I think the hotel is undergoing renovations, as the lobby and The Bistro were not open when we stayed on 6/8/24. The hotel has been open since 2015, and I think new carpet was just put down throughout the entire hotel, as it looks/feels/smells like it's brand new. The room is nice & clean and beds very comfy. Pricing is on par w/ the Waikiki hotels located on the Waikiki beach strip but not at the Waikiki strip, so if you don't plan to stay in Waikiki due to the crowds, then this is the place to stay (there aren't many other hotel options on the North Shore).

This place is perfect! We made lei’s and wristbands, learned to play the ukulele The pool was fanstastic It’s right next to the Polynesian Cultural Center (free to enter) which had all kinds food and dessert options Every night had someone playing music. We sat by a fire on some really comfy outdoor furniture enjoying the sounds and smells and amazing weather The room was really nice and clean. Comfy beds, plenty of space. Our room had a pull out couch bed as well The staff was so friendly too The hotel has bistro with all kinds of great food and a Starbucks for morning coffee We never had to drive more than 10 minutes to do a hike, visit a beach, or see and do everything we wanted Despite some construction going on and me slicing my foot pretty badly while stepping into an unmarked sprinkler hole on the volleyball court that kept me from doing several hikes, I was very impressed with this resort and how much value my family and I got out of it

The best thing about the Courtyard Marriott North Shore is that it is next to the Polynesian Cultural Center. If you are planning to spend some time at the Polynesian Cultural Center, the Marriott Courtyard is the perfect place for you to stay a night or two because it’s only a 5 minute walk. The hotel is also about a 10 to 15 minute drive to the Turtle Bay resort. Warning, if you go to the Turtle Bay Resort you will want to change hotels. The Courtyard is about half price of the Turtle Bay Resort but you get what you pay for. BTW, if you don’t have a car, do not depend on Uber. For example, the app showed me a $20 price from the Marriott to the Turtle Bay Resort and then there were no drivers available. There is a bus that goes from the front of the Marriott Hotel directly to the Turutle Bay Resort and it only costs $3. Now back to the Marriott review. The room was fine but there are no lanais and you cannot open the windows. The ocean view from the third floor (the top floor) was nice (see photo. The rooms are also a bit dark with very thin walls. Hopefully you won’t get honeymooners next door. As a Titanium Marriott member there wasn’t much recognition. The only benefit was the $20 restaurant credit. The restaurant food is decent and is better than the food trucks at the Polynesian Cultural Center. The only food choices within walking distance from the hotel are the food trucks at the Polynesian Cultural Center and they are not open every day. The pool and jacuzzi are very nice but there were lots of children running around. They are obnoxiously strict with their towel service and remind you over and over again that you will be charged if you don’t return your towels. We made sure to return our towels every day and they still tried to charge us $30 for towels. Check your bill ! As a Titanium Marriott member I asked for an 11:30 am checkout and I was told that checkout time is 11:00 am. As a Platinum/ Titanium member you usually can get a 4:00 pm checkout. The front desk woman then said we could have a 12:00 pm checkout. About an hour later I got a phone call from another front desk woman asking when we were checking out. A bit disorganized. If I wanted to stay in the North Shore again I would probably stay at the Turtle Bay Resort.

We were really impressed with this hotel! It is a little tired round the edges and could use a refresh but It had so many nice touches including face masks in the bathroom, chocolate macadamias upon arrival and free ukulele lessons and workshops, that all can be forgiven. The pool area was outstanding and we thought it was better than the pool at the very posh Turtle Bay Resort down the road. Breakfast was ok, a bit limited but tasted nice. The hotel is right next to the Polynesian Cultural Centre which is great fun and really interesting and the restaurant attached to the centre, Pounders has THE loveliest manager (Hei) you’ll ever meet and it is well worth visiting. Overall, we had a great stay! Be aware though that the town itself, Laie, is a dry town and you won’t be able to find alcohol anywhere there. The hotel says you can drink in your room but not outside of it - this was a bit of a buzzkill and worth knowing when booking if you like a drink or two.

The hotel was better than expected. The staff were friendly and the location was great. The little extras such as face masks and chocolates were lovely. The rooms were comfy and the toiletries were good quality and the view from our room of the mountains was gorgeous. However you could hear conversations in the next rooms so it was not always a peaceful sleep. The pool was lovely albeit a bit shallow but still relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed the live music on the Friday night - a lovely way to end the day. The meals in the bistro are limited and we would have appreciated a few more choices. The laundry was clean and it was great to have this onsite as it meant we could relax while our clothes were being washed/dried.

The front desk employee was very friendly. I appreciate there is an on-site cafe. Unfortunately, the menu had no vegan option other than fries. Also, they serve everything in to-go boxes after a certain time. It also seemed unnecessary to charge for parking since there's a private lot; it's not a busy area like Waikiki.
Pros: clean room, live music, cultural activities, hot tub/pool
Cons: expensive, paid parking, no substantial vegan food options

If you're exploring the North Shore, staying at this hotel is a great option (instead of trekking back and forth from Honolulu). It's right next door to the Polynesian Cultural Center. The room was comfortable and the premises are extremely well-kept. The pool area in particular is great, with lots of additional amenities onsite.

Great hotel is your main focus is the Polynesian Cultural Center. Otherwise, stay for two or three nights if you want to experience the quieter side of the island. The beach across the street is nice, clean, and rather secluded. We took our snorkel gear and headed to Shark's Cove and Weimea Bay each day in the North Shore, which was maybe 25 minutes away. Saw lots of fish and turtles, suitable for families. There are some good hikes in that area, too. The hotel has a stiff early cancelation policy - you will be charged 1 nights stay even with a multiple day notice. I think a lot of people get here and realize it's really not neat anything and you have to have a car - plus no alcohol allowed. Staff was fantastic. They had Hawaiian music singers in the evenings. Hotel lobby is large to have dinner in (near grocery store). Beds clean and comfortable.

The Courtyard Oahu North Shore is the perfect spot for families for a vacation on the island. The staff is delightful and the rooms are up to covid cleanliness standards. The hotel has direct access to the beach via a short walking path and offers rentals for chairs, umbrellas, and just about anything else you might need for a day at the beach. The resort style pool is perfect for kids of all ages. Depending on where your room is located you may be able to have a Mountain View or ocean view. We were able to get a slight Mountain View in our room. Though the bistro has limited hours due to covid, there are plenty of great local restaurants and food trucks with in a few miles of the hotel. This location has a great small town feel being away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. There is a parking fee but it is a fraction of the cost of some of the larger beach resorts and there is no resort fee at the Courtyard Oahu North Shore. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to Oahu.

This hotel is across the street from a beach area. There are houses and a road between the hotel and the beach. I suppose you might get some view of the ocean from the top floor on that particular side of the hotel.
Just visited a few months ago. You can use pool any time it is open, no assigned times. To use the pool you have to see the pool attendant, where they will give you a towel and a wristband for use that day. Towel must be turned back in to attendant at the end of the day. They offer towels for the beach too which is right across the street. This hotel is in a great location.
There are more places to choose from in the Laie area.
