Beautiful location and property. Unlike many resorts on the islands, Turtle Bay has acres of land accessing multiple beaches and trails to hike or bike. You can wander alone in peace if you choose, or enjoy the resort pool or popular cove. Unlike other resorts, the “resort fee” actually comes with useful benefits: beach chairs and umbrellas; use of beach cruisers; golf range balls; etc. Highly recommend going to the Mill for casual eating since the resort offers limited choices and dinner can be pricey. Service was top notch.

Hotel's Favourite
Our second trip staying at Turtle Bay and this time in the main hotel (not a bungalow). Booked the upper floor with an amazing view that was worth every penny. Perfect to sit outside and enjoy a morning coffee or an afternoon beer and snack or evening cocktail. Room was perfect. Spacious. Modern. Lots of USB ports right by the room. Fridge. Bathroom was spacious as well. No complaints. Remodel has done wonders for the place. The grounds that make up the property are stunning. Lots of walking paths and hiking trails. So much to explore! Some dining options on site but also lots to explore outside. Rent a car and visit the many food trucks nearby – shaved ice, pizza, shrimp, tacos. Support Local! Or even head over to Haleiwa for dinner. Yes, the place can be pricey but everything is pricey on the island. Swing by the local Foodland to stock up on snacks and local beers. A 5 star stay all day! Stay at Turtle Bay!

This is a beautiful, updated hotel with a wonderful staff. Whether it was at one of the many restaurants or at the spa, my husband and I felt well taken care of here. We both felt that the resort was worth the money. A special shoutout goes to Jennifer at the spa who gave me one of the best deep tissue massages of my life. She had such a calming disposition and a wonderful presence. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her after my treatment. Monica at Sunset (the pool bar) was also wonderful. She was the epitome of the aloha spirit. Jualita at Alaia also deserves praise for friendly service and looking after us with such warmth. In terms of negatives, the pillows were terrible and spa robes weren't provided in the room. No spa robes felt like an oversight considering the nightly cost to stay here. One thing I noticed a few times was that the hotel seems to be frequented by non-hotel guests. I understand the relaxed spirit of the resort and of the island in general, and I also understand the property is open to the public for access to the restaurants. In this case however it became clear several times that locals were crowding the jacuzzi and pool areas. It's a wonderful resort so I get it, but found it a little odd just how lax the policy was. Turtle Bay is an expensive, exclusive resort but not as exclusive as one thinks!

Stayed 8 nights. Turtle bay resort is great. It is very clean and the service is impressive . There are no issues with the pools being clean as we saw multiple times folks working with equipment to scrub the bottom. I’ve read about people complaining about the cost of food in their review, it is comparable to other resorts on Oahu and the quality is good. The rooms have a small refrigerator so you can stock up with supplies at the on-site convenience shop or go to one of the stores a few miles away. Room and bed were great. We upgraded to a suite, which had both a soaking tub and separate shower. We especially liked the wall of windows that opened fully for an awesome panoramic view of the ocean with the sounds of waves crashing the shore. There are many places to stop, sit and enjoy the many views of the Pacific including lobby, pools, coffee shop and restaurants. The only thing I saw that needs attention was peeling paint under the east wing which will not affect my 5 rating. The rest of the resort is immaculate. If you are looking for high quality surroundings without stuffiness, this is your place.

It's gratifying to know that the efforts to maintain our pools and the dining quality, which you've found to be on par with other resorts on Oahu, alongside thoughtful amenities like the in-room refrigerator, played a significant role in enhancing your overall experience. We're delighted that the decision to upgrade to a suite afforded you luxurious comforts and stunning ocean views, further enriching your stay. Your enjoyment of the resort's serene spots and the immaculate condition of our premises is greatly appreciated. Such feedback is invaluable to us. My husband and I had 5 wonderful nights at Turtle Bay, our second visit and first since their very impressive remodel - the common areas are completely reimagined and show off the amazing location - views to the waves and ocean everywhere you look, wonderful spots to relax, sit by many fire pits, lounge in the hot tub all with these views. We enjoyed the yoga classes, walks both directions down the coast, great beach time with handy chairs included, snorkeling, protected for swimming, dining at the beach house, on the lip lounge, and the coffee area - while prices were high, we prefer to eat light, so it was fine and everything was extremely high quality. Sitting on the balcony was our favorite, we frequented the fruit stand outside the resort and kept a supply of banana bread and fruit and excellent poke from the nearby supermarket for casual meals on the lanai. My only disappointment was we loved our stay so much we wanted to add a night (we were told the property was only 50% full which seemed about right). They offered us a rate almost double what we were paying for a Thursday night! Unfortunately that didn’t work for us and we stuck with our original plan. We would love to return and probably will but that didn’t leave a very good impression.

Aloha. It is gratifying to hear about your wonderful five-night stay at Turtle Bay, especially noting that this was your first visit since our remodel. The reimagined common areas designed to showcase our stunning location, along with the variety of relaxing spots, fire pits, and the hot tub with ocean views, sound like they significantly enhanced your experience. It's delightful that you took advantage of the yoga classes, coastal walks, beach amenities, and high-quality dining options we offer. Your preference for light eating and finding everything to be of high quality, along with enjoying casual meals on the lanai with local fruit and poke, paints a picture of a truly paradise-like vacation. However, it's regrettable that your attempt to extend your stay was met with an unexpectedly high rate. We understand how this could impact your overall impression. Our aim is always to provide transparent and consistent pricing to our guests, and we apologize if this experience seemed at odds with that goal. We're heartened by your love for your stay and your desire to return, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back under more favorable circumstances, ensuring that every aspect of your stay is as enjoyable and accommodating as possible. The hotel itself is very clean and well kept. The recent renovations are attractive. I wish the mattresses and pillows had been updated as well. We found the bed to be very uncomfortable. The restaurants at the resort are nice. Be prepared for the pricy menus. A typical cocktail is around $27. We did drive down to the farm one day for lunch and thought it was one of our better meals. We didn’t have great luck with the weather. It was cloudy and cool each day of our trip. The ocean was too rough to enjoy. Many locals told us this was typical for the time of the year. We enjoyed our trip for the most part. If we go back, it will be the early fall. The resort is on the North Shore so somewhat isolated from other activities on the island. All in all, a nice resort.

Aloha. It is pleasing to know that the cleanliness and recent renovations we completed met your expectations and contributed to a positive overall impression. Your feedback regarding the mattresses and pillows is well-received, and we acknowledge the importance of comfort in ensuring a restful night's sleep for our guests. We're glad you enjoyed the restaurants within the resort, although we understand concerns about the prices. Weather can indeed be unpredictable, and we regret that it was not as favorable as hoped during your visit. The insights shared by locals about the seasonal conditions are valuable for future planning, and we appreciate you passing this on. Turtle Bay Resort's location on the North Shore does offer a unique, albeit more isolated, experience from other activities on the island, which we hope was a peaceful retreat for you. We are committed to continuous improvement and will consider your feedback as we strive to enhance our guest experience. Should you decide to return in the future, we look forward to the opportunity to exceed your expectations.Mahalo Joey Woofter, Hotel Manager

Very okay no holes on ocean golf course and big brother atmosphere. It’s strange. Friendly locals and employees drinking everywhere and you are chastised if you befriend one (no females mind you) by security. Weird unwritten rules and very okay drinks. Ocean inaccessible whole time due to rain and reef. Will never go back.

Aloha, Zachary. It is deeply regrettable to hear that your experience did not live up to your expectations, especially concerning the atmosphere and the golf course amenities. Understanding that the essence of a memorable stay encompasses not just the setting but also the sense of welcome and freedom, it is clear that we missed the mark in making you feel at ease. The aspects you highlighted regarding interactions with our team and the guidance from security are critical for us to review, ensuring our approach fosters a more inclusive and comfortable environment for all guests. Additionally, the natural challenges that limited access to the ocean are unfortunate, though often beyond our control, we recognize the impact this had on your overall experience. We take your feedback to heart as part of our commitment to continuous improvement and sincerely regret any disappointment caused. While it disheartens us to learn you do not plan to return, we are grateful for your candidness, which is invaluable in guiding our efforts to enhance the experience for all guests. We had the best time staying at the Turtle Bay Hotel this past week. We came to Hawaii for a little getaway before our first baby is here in March. We had never been to the North Shore of Oahu before, and really enjoyed the calm and the beauty of the area. The hotel was recently redone, and you can tell that thought and effort went into every part of it. The staff was excellent and really went out of their way to make us feel special (including by sending some banana bread and cookies to our room after hearing we were celebrating). We had an ocean view king in the West Wing and spent a good amount of time sitting in our room listening to the waves - we even saw whales from our balcony one morning! There was plenty to do for both of us, even me being 7 months pregnant. Some of the highlights: + The prenatal massage at the spa was excellent (the front desk gave me a 10% discount for the appointment) + There was plenty of seating every night to watch the surfers and sunset, along with live music + Our package included breakfast at the restaurant, which was excellent every morning + There was always plenty of seating by the pool + We did a photography session with Pacific Dreams in the lobby and were very happy with the results + the banana smoothies by the pool were the best we had ever had A few things to note before staying here: + being so remote, for us having a car was key. We made a few stops to Foodland (~10 min away driving) to grab some light lunch options, and to the food trucks just past the hotels + the chairs by the adults pool section fill up very quickly and seem to be reserved all day We would definitely return to this resort in the future. This was an adults only trip, but we saw plenty of kids having a great time. There were lots of activities we weren’t able to partake in this time around (golf, horseback riding, surfing lessons) that I would love to get to do next time. All in all a great, very relaxing trip!

The Turtle Bay Resort is a luxurious hotel for folks on their honeymoons, couples celebrating a special anniversary or families that want to spend time in a perfect paradise with their children. My wife snd Zi were just looking for a perfect holiday to escape the cold weather! Regardless of your reasons to come here, you’ll be guaranteed a wonderful vacation. There is a huge pool area with hot tubs, adult pool areas, kiddie pools with slides that are fun for parents, children and an occasional guest who just wants to add a little extra splash to their vacation! Interestingly, non of the pools are more than two feet deep! When this resort was renovated a few years ago, a conscious decision was made to insure that parents could be assured that all the pools would be shallow. And while there are no lifeguards on duty, there is little reasons to be concerned for the guests children. My one regret was renting a car since we never left the resort and paid over $1,000 for the rental and an additional $40 a day to park. I’d recommend when planning your trip to reach out to the hotel’s Transportation Conceiege. Out of curiosity, I spoke with Evan, who’s the transportation manager and he would have arranged transportation to and from the hotel, even though you could probably get a taxi or Uber from Honolulu to get you to the hotel and Evan will definitely arrange transportation back to the airport. While most folks who are planning a trip to a luxurious hotel, expect to pay more for everything from lattes to roast beef, the prices at the hotel might surprise you. We compromised by buying domestic of our breakfasts and lunches at their store in the hotel’s lobby but I think overall, the Turtle Bay Resort was worth it!

Aloha, Arthur. Mahalo for your detailed and glowing review of Turtle Bay Resort. Your description of the resort as ideal for honeymooners, couples celebrating anniversaries, and families looking for a memorable vacation is much appreciated. We are glad that the extensive pool area, including the hot tubs, adult and kiddie pools, added a fun and enjoyable aspect to your stay. The design choice to keep the pools shallow for safety and peace of mind for parents is something we're proud of, and we're pleased to hear it resonated with you. Your insight about the car rental and parking fees is valuable, and we thank you for highlighting our Transportation Concierge service. Evan and his team are indeed dedicated to assisting our guests with convenient and stress-free transportation options. We understand your observations regarding the prices within the resort and appreciate your practical approach to managing meal costs. Your overall assessment that Turtle Bay Resort was worth it is heartening to us, as we strive to provide a luxurious and fulfilling experience to all our guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to our little piece of paradise for another wonderful vacation, whether it be for relaxation, celebration, or simply escaping the cold.
