The Hono Koa is a very nice place to stay on Maui. Our room had a view of the ocean, was very comfortable due to the great breeze moving thru the rooms. The kitchen and bathrooms were well maintained, and everything work as it should....More

I am not sure what palm unit means. Refrigerator was full size. We did not drive straight there from airport as we stopped by and bought groceries. I think 30-45 minutes but traffic can be bad around late afternoon/ early evening since there is one major road that goes along coast. I don't remember if there was a hairdryer or not. I did not bring a hairdryer though.

Yes there is a concierge available. When you check in they will tell you about a free breakfast by pool where they will discuss tours. They also do raffles where you can get free or reduced tours. They also do free activities on site such as making leis. Well worth doing and fun.
There is a sister property close by which has a better beach. You can see if they have shuttle service. We rented a car but my sister in law did take the bus into the area of shops and she said it was very easy.
We had 1st floor which did not have ocean view but we actually liked it better. The foliage by patio made it very private and had jungle feel. Plus it was easy to walk to car and pool and we didn't have to wait for elevator or have to take stairs.
