I can't say enough about this wonderful bed and breakfast. It was quiet, clean, spacious and the views from our lanai were breathtaking. It was the perfect starting point for a trip to Haleakala for the sunrise. Our host Michael sent us on our way with fresh fruit and pastries along with thermoses filled with hot coffee and tea so we could...

We stayed here for one night and it is by far the best option on the Island if you plan on going to Haleakala (I highly recommend the sunrise). It is an incredibly good deal! -5 minutes (at most) from bottom of the road leading to the top of Haleakala -Walking distance to a grocery store -Walking distance to a...

We stayed her for 1 night to go see the sunrise on Haleakala. The rooms were clean, large with very large bathrooms. Each room also has a huge balcony. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet at night. There was an amazing view of the valley between west Maui and east Maui. The sunset sitting on the deck...

Michael took great care of us during our stay July 19 - 22nd. The accommodations were spacious and we thoroughly enjoyed the overview of Maui that we had from the lanai. Michael provided great tips for snorkeling, beaches, dining, routes around the island and prepared a breakfast for us to take up for sunrise at Haleakala complete with blankets, chairs...

We stayed with Michael our first two nights on Maui in order to do the Haleakala sunrise thing. The B&B is perfectly situated, Michael gives you a detailed map, tells you when to leave, where to park, where to sit. You brew your own coffee in your room at 3 am, pour it into a thermos which you set in...

I have stayed at the Upcountry Bed and Breakfast several times and have always enjoyed staying there. The room is very clean and Michael is the perfect host. He was very helpful with helping us plan our trip to Haleakala to see the sunrise. Michael prepared tea and coffee for us as well as provided bottled water, pastries and bananas....

Great view of Maui. Comfortable rooms that are huge! Huge bathroom. It was great to have a wet bar in our room. Michael makes delicious fruit salad for breakfast. He's got plenty of stories to tell. Excellent recommendations for dinner. Plus there is a lemon and a lime tree growing on the property - perfect addition to pre-dinner adult beverages.

First off, Kula is a gem. It literally is above the noise and haste that can engulf Maui. Of course, you came here for sunrise on the volcano and the chance for lodging as close to the entrance as you can get. Good reason and you will not be disappointed. The first thing you learn about Michael Sullivan, your gracious...

Seriously wonderful B & B. The view from the room was amazing & can't be emphasized enough. (Attaching photo of dawn from the deck.) We picked this place because of proximity to Haleakala NP & the sunrise thing. This was the perfect location if that is your goal. Host has very specific instructions (including what side of he parking lot...

We chose Up Country B&B because it provided a great location for our three days in Haleakala National Park. There are four rooms in this very lovely home. We stayed in the “Black and White room”. The room was spacious with a spectacular view from the room or the deck. The room was large and well appointed. There is no...
