I was a little confused, after reading reviews from others, I don’t understand how this place got a 4.5 star. I was convinced we were going to have a great time with this quote. After exchanging some emails with owner Micheal to confirm my reservation, we did our best to confirm our arrival time as requested. When we arrived, he...

Fantastic place to stay. We stayed there the night before a sunrise hike to Haleakala. And Michael really helped us for the trip up to the summit - directions, when to go, blankets, chairs, and to-go breakfast. The establishment itself is quite clean and spacious. The rooms afford great views of the island. Michael himself is a fantastic host -...

We stayed here for 2 nights. During this time we went to Haleakala Summit and did the road to Hana. The owner packed up breakfast and gave us chairs, blankets for our summit trip. He really made sure we were well prepared for both our excursions. It's a great location for both Haleakala National Park and a less expensive option...

We only stayed here for one night, but we wished we stayed longer. Michael was an excellent host, and made sure we were prepared for the early morning Haleakala sunrise. The house is beautiful and well appointed, and the views are spectacular. The location is very convenient for getting up the mountain for sunrise, as well as doing the Road...

Perfect spot to get away from the Canadian Winter and the hustle and bustle of tourist resorts. Michael was an amazing host and his Upcountry Bed and Breakfast ia first rate. First off, we arrived late at night and got lost because I didn't read the directions and relied on a GPS. My fault. A moonless night at 11:00 pm...

The proprietor, Michael, is terrific. He is so darn organized. First, the house is huge and just the way he designed and built it. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need. The location is in a small neighborhood which has all manner of goings on, such as horses, wild love birds, cats on the prowl, many birds,...

After communicating promptly to me that his bnb didn't have availability for the dates we were visiting (last minute travel planning during busy season), I was completely blown away by Michael's kindness and helpfulness in putting us into contact with other great local bnbs that did end up having availability due to being more off the radar. If his customer...

Only stayed the one night, but was very impressed with the room, cleanliness and massive bathroom (had just come from a backpackers, so was very welcome). Michael is an excellent host and had my daughter and I all set for our early morning Haleakala sunrise too. Provides chairs, extra jackets / jumpers and blankets, you need them, it is freezing...

Wow. Amazing views. Amazing host. Amazing accommodations. Clean. Comfy. Micheal was especially knowledgeable about the area and his tips on visiting the volcano at sunrise were right on. His boxed breakfast and coffee were delish and the thermos was just what we needed. He is super accommodating and provides chairs warm clothes and blankets. Couldn't have stayed at the top...
