We booked this last minute as we wanted to see the sunrise at the Haleakala Summit. We paid $205 for one night in lodge 5 but the room was not worth it. The room smelled old and musty. Room was very small and the bathroom you could barely turn around in. There was a decking area that looked on to...

We had a ground floor room which was quite spacious. Had a small deck but view was of parking lot. Very comfortable bed & plenty of hot water in the shower. It is slightly worn, but meticulously cleaned. Across the parking lot to the restaurant & lodge commons and the beautiful views of Maui. Very wonderful gift/grocery store on premises.

We always fly into Maui the day before our timeshare is available, so we can stay near Kahului and get my husband up to Haleakala to do a 19 mile hike he does every time we are on the island. This year, I was slow in booking and could only find availability at the Kula Lodge. I had been driving...

Simple lodging, due for some refreshing! Bed was past its prime with squishy spots, rest of the room just seemed aged. Lovely pink tile shower! Decent little lanai, sat and enjoyed a beverage and soaked in the view...of the parking lot. Staff was pleasant enough at check in, but did ask 4 times if we would be dining with them...

Nothing really thrilling in this lodge. Our room was dark and humid, no view except on the parking lot. Close to the road and as a consequence pretty noisy. Its main benefit is its location, on the way to the Haleakala volcano to enjoy the sunrise

Food was boring and bland. Décor reminded me of an old unfinished steak house from the seventies. Dark and musty. Menu also was old school. Zero items got any of us excited. Staff seemed bored and not really into their place of employment. I would not dine here again.

We've stopped for lunch here many times on our way down the mountain but this is the first time we stayed overnight. We checked in and then went to the Leleiwi Overlook to watch the sunset. Incredible views and we lucked out with the best sunset of the week! Back to the lodge for dinner and overnight, then up early...

beautiful Upcountry Maui, being from Lahaina it was a nice change. No TV, fridge, micro or WiFi in room but it was good to step away from all that. Great weather for October... eucalyptus in the air, cool evenings and beautiful views. Priced on the high side for "rustic" however we enjoyed the property and the time away from Lahaina.

You get a nice view of the west side of Maui from the property, and is relatively close to Haleakala. If you are planning on going to the top of the mountain for sunrise or sunset, this is a great place to stay. The restaurant is nice as well, with a good view of the sunset over the water with...

I read previous reviews about a lady who wasn't helpful.. well, I think she got sacked because our service was great! To be honest, everything was perfect! Except the prices, but we got used to that on Hawaï.. The view is stunning, especially because we came from the top of the volcano. We were looking for a nice place to...
